Yup. I’m in MA and my youngest daughter is still at home. She has a pretty decent job, but there are almost no apartments in our area (pretty rural) and the ones that are “available” are about $2500 a month. Not affordable. The expectation seems to be that young people will either buy a house or live in Mom’s basement. And since houses in our area start north of $500,00 for a starter home, there are a lot of young people living in Mom’s basement.

Right you are CCG, our youngest son and wife have been searching for a home and then looked at building on a lot we have, everything is out of sight for them. Blessedly, we have an apartment in our ell that they are living in while they save. I don't see it in the near future, prices for crap-garbage are stupid, and he tells me the apartment they rented on the other side of Worcester is up about 40% from 2 years ago.
