The new 2024 annual report from the COVID-19 Fraud Enforcement Task Force summarizes law enforcement efforts to combat pandemic-era fraud, providing further evidence of long held concerns about how the roughly $5 trillion total pandemic relief was exploited by bad actors. Two years ago, The New York Times published an interactive chart showing what industry sectors received the funds.
Yet, this marks only a small fraction of the estimated fraud stemming from COVID-19 relief. For example, an Associated Press investigation estimated $280 billion in relief funds were stolen by fraudsters.

And how much did that prosecution cost in money we will never see again?
Most of the fraud will be overlooked.
The central government’s first reaction is always to cover it up. If the waste, fraud, and corruption is too large or the story gets out they will give a little lip service, but little else. Their publicists & propaganda agents ( MSM) assist it letting it fade away so they can eliminate the need for any real scrutiny. Just think about all the 100’s of $billions that have just been mentioned as lost to corruption, incompetence, etc., and the lack of any prosecutions or firings. It’s always just “business as usual “ with no repercussions. Washington is just the perfect place for larceny on a grand scale.

“..an Associated Press investigation estimated $280 billion in relief funds were stolen by fraudsters.”
Every spending bill for dims, and some establishment jerks, amount to big cash cows for their special interests. Little ever makes it to a beneficial cause. And it’s not their money so the sky is the limit.
I worked at a factory making road construction equipment. Our sales would increase a lot right after congress would pass whatever highway bill. And building and maintaining highways was a common goal for both parties. During the obama era a bill was passed and after a few months I ask where the extra work was. I was told after obamas administration had wrung all the pork out of it hardly anything was left for actual roads.
