We are certainly no worse off. We knew without question that Kevin would work as a Democrat assistant. Sadly, Mike Johnson pretended to be cut from a different cloth. Question is, what do they have on Mike Johnson?

Politics is a nasty profession that is chock full of temptations & opportunities to fall into the lure of corruption. It appears that Mike Johnson was not as clean as his carefully crafted mask portrayed. But then these things are never visible until they are tested.

I mean really, name anyone other than the Freedom Caucus who even attempts to rehabilitate the way Congress operates.

BTW, they are a reflection of the vast majority of we the people. In other words, the people use get what they deserve with their elected officials, because the people are compromised also, just in varying different degrees.

The January 6 videos were released under Johnson, which has helped refute the insurrection claim. Mayorkas was impeached and Biden is sweating continuing revelations by House investigators about his corruption. None of that would have happened under McCarthy.

Moreover, like an unhinged ex who was jilted, McCarthy is now on a mission of personal spite and revenge with no larger purpose than to create turmoil. McCarthy was an incompetent Speaker, foolishly daring Matt Gaetz to file a motion to vacate, which McCarty lost because he did not know how to count votes. A petty and shallow man, McCarthy ought to have had the sense to conciliate Gaetz and his band of allies instead of provoking them.

We have seen this sort of conduct many times among weak Republican leaders. They make deals with and accommodate Democrats but are bitter foes of Republicans who are not slavishly loyal to them. McCarthy would still be Speaker if he had fought the Democrats as hard as he is now fighting his fellow Republicans.

When the CINOs vehemently refused to back Jim Jordan for Speaker, the Republicans went for the compromise - Johnson.

Johnson is better than McCarthy, who wouldn’t even demand the Speaker’s office back from Nanzi Pelousy, but Johnson doesn’t have the backbone of Jordan.

The bottom line is, as always, Republican does not equal conservative.

We are certainly better with McCarthy out of office.
