I just finished watching a pretty good movie about Moses and a better in depth rendering of the plagues the Ten Commandments didn't depict . . . . Hail, huh ?

Well, all those solar panels were just sitting there waiting for it, right? Solar and wind power is just not a very good idea. But of course, the govt has to spend a trillion or so to figure that out.

Great big solar “farm” right near here. Couldn’t believe it was so big.

Not only does the storm highlight the fragility of so-called green energy facilities, but area residents are worried about toxic chemical leaks. Needville resident Nick Kaminski spoke with a local television affiliate: My concern is the hail damage that came through and busted these panels – we now have some highly toxic chemicals that could be potentially leaking into our water tables. I have a family — two children and a wife. My neighbors have kids and a lot of other residents in the area who are on well water are concerned that the chemicals are now leaking into our water tables. The company denies there is any risk of chemical exposure.
Of course they would. I would not expect them to admit to that.
Isn't *green* energy so good? So wonderful for the environment. Non-polluting and all.

Like tornados attraction to trailer parks.
A hail storm is gonna find your solar farm.
Im sure the cost to rebuild with upgrades will be past along to the customer.

C’mon, Texas. Use the oil and natural gas that God blessed you with.
The hell with the Chinese made crappy solar panels.

Well.....since all the snow and ice (hail) was supposed to be gone by 2000.....2005.....2010..... It must be, yes, President Trump’s fault.

OK. Boo-hoo. But that Nick dude is a total idjit.
There’s nothing getting into the groundwater. But, hey, the motard would rather air his soy-boy concerns to an equally know-nothing newscaster than go do any cursory research about the materials.

From the EPA website……
Hazardous waste testing on solar panels in the marketplace has indicated that different varieties of solar panels have different metals present in the semiconductor and solder. Some of these metals, like lead and cadmium, are harmful to human health and the environment at high levels. If these metals are present in high enough quantities in the solar panels, solar panel waste could be a hazardous waste under RCRA. Some solar panels are considered hazardous waste, and some are not, even within the same model and manufacturer. Homeowners with solar panels on their houses should contact their state/local recycling agencies for more information on disposal/recycling.

This isn’t the first time this has happened and it won’t be the last. Wind and solar are very important and we need to protect them. I think we should put them underground where they would be safe. If we can save just one valuable panel it would be worth it.

Solar panels will never replace dams or power plants. Beside damage from hail and being covered in snow, solar panels have to be kept clean! Can you imagine the time and effort to keep all those solar panels clean..int Texas?
