I remember watching the bridge being built from my classroom in high school. Several miles away, but clearly visible. I used to drive over the bridge sometimes just for the pleasure of it. The view was spectacular.

This is going to cause major disruptions for the city for years to come. I now live on the other side of the city, and my daily routine will be significantly affected as even more traffic is routed onto the already overcrowded west side of the beltway, which has a major construction project going on right now

And then there’s the planned replacement of the triple bridges where I-70 comes into the beltway. That project will likely have to be put on hold until the new FSK bridge is open.

Given the woke nature of the state, I’m sure there will be plenty of delays, but one thing Maryland does right is road construction. Both the quality of our roads as well as the process of building and repairing them. Except for Baltimore City. In the city they have no idea what they’re doing.

And part of the delay will be in deciding what to name it because I'm pretty sure Francis Scott Keys was a white guy who owned slaves. No way it remains named after him

It will also put the Port of Baltimore out of business for a long while!

Sorry to hear that. Many will suffer because of it.

I agree with you on the quality of Maryland roads, but neighboring Virginians are mostly firmly convinced that Virginia does them better.

That’s not been my experience, though.

In the city they do nothing.
