BREAKING: Hail storm in Damon texas on 3/24/24 destroys 1,000’s of acres of solar farms.
Who pays to fix this green energy? @StateFarm? @FarmBureau? @Allstate?
Or you the taxpayer?
I am going to guess this means more revenue for the CCP.
Not sure what you are saying, or trying to say.
What does insurance have to do with it?
What a mess.
All that needs to be cleaned up, disposed of or recycled, and what are they going to do? Build another one to get just as smashed up in the next storm?
And have all the save-the-earth types ever stopped to calculate the carbon footprint caused by their manufacture, installation, replacement, and disposal?
I don’t buy energy from that company or live in the state.
My neighbors are “renting” solar panels. No money up front, $130 a month in rent. 10 year lease, can be assigned. (What if the buyer doesn’t want them?)
Unless their average electric bill was well over $130 a month I don’t see the point...
Imagine what a tornado would do to a solar farm or windmill farm?
Shredded glass and metal spread out over miles. Fiberglass too in the case of windmills.
I remember when they banned Edison type light bulbs and made us buy nasty mercury filled curly bulbs with really ugly color and bad cri rating.
Led tech was just starting on a Moore curve and would have dominated like it does now, but we could have bypassed a huge mercury problem in the waste stream by not mandating fluorescent bulbs.
I think electric cars are at the same point. No more mandates, let the market work, and it will.
I have designs for what is technically a 2-stroke 3 cylinder forced induction 3rd order balanced range extender which I cannot sell because of the current climate.

“Massive hail storm has damaged Solar panels farm in 2024 Damon Texas”
How stupid can they get?
It’s one thing to lose power for a few hours after a storm brings some limbs down on a power lines. But a storm destroying your power source until it can get rebuilt? Ouch. Not bright. Not bright at all.
I cracked a smile on tha query.
Just wait. The ‘unusual’/s weather will be blamed on the evil oil companies, and capitalism in general. There will be more lawsuits blaming oil companies for destroying the future.
My newest set of panels uses acrylic instead of glass. I don’t know the shatter resistance but assume it is a little better.
If nothing else they are much lighter carrying up the ladder...
Harness the power of hail!
Tim...perfect!
What a waste of land.
Wait for the 30 million acre wind farm off LA/TX in the gulf. Dumbassery writ large.
