Well, having thought about this for a bit, although it’s disappointing in President Trump personally, I am now wondering if it’s a moot point as far as his opinion, or his VP pick.

With SCOTUS transferring the abortion issue back to each individual state, the viewpoint of the president is pretty much irrelevant as far as the law is concerned. It’s comforting to know that the executive is pro-life, but if the onus is now on the states, it’s neither here nor there. Unless I’m missing something, which is more than possible.

The problem isn't confined solely to abortion itself - as we know, a politician's position on right-to-life is strongly correlated to other social conservative positions. Whoever Trump selects as his 2024 VP nominee will be the presumptive front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2028, and could conceivably become POTUS before then. That person must be a strong conservative.
