“Where are the Black people?”

Still in Africa living in grass huts and eating roots and berries. They haven’t even thought of sea-faring voyages.

“Where are the Black people?”, followed by "Still in Africa living in grass huts and eating roots and berries. They haven’t even thought of sea-faring voyages."

Unfortunately we live in a world where many people think of the Moors as black (perhaps true, certainly darker than I am) and, therefore, their conquests were noble and good, including not just their conquests up into Iberia (Spain), but also some history showing they may have ruled east Asia (https://clockofdestiny.com/moors-of-the-orient/

It's far-fetched to say that blacks from sub-saharan Africa ruled the world. But some Democrats and black supremacists (pardon the repetition) believe that.

I’d also add eunuchs and slaves in Arabia at about that time. Unfortunately those slaves under the Arabs were treated far worse than those in the Americas. Neither was any picnic though.

This is the best answer for such a stupid question. That was like asking where are the white people in ancient Japan? The ignorance abounding is unbelievable.

Actually not - the west Africans along the Gold Coast were visited by the Portuguese in the mid-1600s. The Africans had running water, indoor plumbing, and very nice cities built entirely of wood. The amenities were left over from Roman times. They were very peaceful people and welcomed the Portuguese sailors.

Portugal at the time was the superpower and had the highest standard of living in Europe. The explorers begged the King to allow them to stay because the living conditions were so much better than in Portugal.

Alas, they were ordered to return home. The next incursion brought the beginning of European slave trade - slaves for firearms. The result was a competition to acquire slaves to sell.

This brought the end of the wooden west African civilization. Nothing remains now, as the jungle reclaimed all of it as the wood rotted and the vines and brush took over.

Nor were the Japanese interested in importing black slaves.
