If you do your best to learn Japanese and fit into the local community you will be accepted.
Your neighbors will be ready to tell you if you are falling short. Make the effort and they will tolerate you.
Like everything else there will be up sides and down sides to the change.

Japanese doesn’t seem hard to me. Its highly syllabic.(Chinese is nonsense to me)
I don’t know the spelling, but Su-mi-ma-sen...Ni-hon-go-ga, sko-she, wa-ka-di-mas...
