Trump released the following statement on Truth Social, responding to Joe Biden’s State of the Union: "“The Pandemic no longer controls our lives. The Vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat Cancer – Turning setback into comeback!” YOU’RE WELCOME, JOE, NINE MONTH APPROVAL TIME VS. 12 YEARS THAT IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU!"
In the TruthSocial post above, Trump mentioned his nine-month approval time for Covid vaccines.
I am frankly shocked by the stupidity of both statements.
The vaccines did not “save us from the pandemic” - they made the pandemic worse. And being proud that such vaccines were pushed through in just nine months is perhaps a bit misguided.

Something I hope Trump will hit him with, but yeah, otherwise he needs to shut up about the vaccines.
Or at least shut up.
Given he's President then, now and future -- and you're not -- understand that, contrary to ordinary Freeptardism, this angle of attack against Biden is polling well among the +70 cohort that Biden must carry.
Not mandatory like in the military?
The idea that one deserves credit for not cornholing someone is insane.
If it was a Democrat or Neocon, you would trash the person.
Trump really does deserve credit for cutting the red tape to make something available. The Democrats then made it mandatory. Two completely different issues. It was clear early on that elderly and those with certain medical issues were at a much higher risk of death than the general population, and as time went on that younger people had very little risk. Yes, there are always risks with anything, and especially with a new technology not really used on people before. Trump enabled it to be given to people who saw the risk/benefit weighed in favor of the shot.
I was personally at the younger end of the elderly spectrum (62) but had a lot of health issues, so for me I figured I’d take the risk. Actually I saw the enormity of potential deaths amongst at-risk people, and I volunteered to be part of the initial Moderna study group, so the risk for me was much higher as it was just the beginning of human experimentation. Didn’t know if I got the placebo or shot until months after the booster shot, not until it was publicly available being rolled out to the really old people. I knew there was some potential of even death, but we were facing a global pandemic we didn’t understand. Trump deserves credit, and Democrats deserve blame for forcing it on people that didn’t want it, especially younger and people without health issues that really didn’t need any protection based on an experimental shot.
Trump has not learned any lessons at all and will continue to make the same gaffs and mistakes he did in his first term if elected.
It is truly disheartening that our main choices are Trump and Biden in a country like this. Neither one is willing to to talk or discuss the really important issues we face from a Fiscal point and ignore them.
Trump doesn't admit mistakes. He doubles down on them.
And why not? He knows his devoted followers will come around to agreeing with him (or they'll just blame Ron DeSantis).
Who in the hell is advising Trump??????
Moronic post posted by a moron.
Enough said.
One of the reasons why no one person should be blindly followed. Yes, he is the best presidential candidate this nation has to turn itself around, but he’s far from perfect.
Trump shoild stay FAR away with anything to do with the words “Covid” or “vaccine..”
Thank you! He needs to not “go there”; distance himself as far as possible from vaccines, Fauci, etc.
It would really help if Fauci were to be tried, convicted, and sentenced before November.
You lost me!
Do not get your point!
That was Ron DeSantis, the most successful conservative governor in the country.
But no. We went with the orange Democrat --who will likely win, only to be slightly less liberal than Biden.
Oh well. He may spend trillions, ban guns, and hand the nation over to unelected medical bureaucrats, but at least he makes me laugh. Trump's got that going for him.
Sorry you have such a negative opinion of yourself. LOL
Trump please be quiet about the vax, yeesh.
If he keeps this up, I won’t vote for him.
And I’m a vote he should be able to take for granted.
You said you give Trump credit for not making it mandatory.
He was CiC, and military personnel had to take it.
The second, roundabout point, was that one doesn’t deserve credit for an action not taken because he couldn’t take it.
POTUS does not have the power to mandate any medical treatment on US civilians.
If he was scammed and conned into having hundreds of thousands of Americans killed by deadly protocols that he massively subsidized in our hospitals, but is still bragging with clear lies, what can we expect from a second term?
That's Trump's problem. He elevates people who are misleading him to powerful positions.
Do you know who wasn't misleading him? Dr. Scott Atlas (who dared to say masks and social distancing don't work, --liberal heresy at the time but now we all know to be true as even Fauci admitted).
So why didn't Trump elevate Dr. Atlas?
I'll tell you why. Because the Left would've howled bloody murder! And here we have another one of Trump's fatal flaws. He tries so desperately to get his enemies to like him. They don't. They never will. He bends over backward for the Democrats and in the end, he still gets impeached and now they're trying to bankrupt him.
