Trump released the following statement on Truth Social, responding to Joe Biden’s State of the Union: "“The Pandemic no longer controls our lives. The Vaccines that saved us from COVID are now being used to help beat Cancer – Turning setback into comeback!” YOU’RE WELCOME, JOE, NINE MONTH APPROVAL TIME VS. 12 YEARS THAT IT WOULD HAVE TAKEN YOU!"
In the TruthSocial post above, Trump mentioned his nine-month approval time for Covid vaccines.
I am frankly shocked by the stupidity of both statements.
The vaccines did not “save us from the pandemic” - they made the pandemic worse. And being proud that such vaccines were pushed through in just nine months is perhaps a bit misguided.

I never took one of those Covid shots or a flu shot for that matter - but if I had been stupid enough to do that, I’d blame the doctors and the scientists, not whoever was President at the time.
Piling on Trump for this is even dumber than blaming Bush for a hurricane - you people make me sick.

What’s my “failing”?
Your failing is that you don’t understand the proper role of a POTUS in scientific advancement. We credit past Presidents like JFK for championing the space program, but it would be absurd to hold him responsible each time a mission fails or a shuttle explodes.
The only politicians to blame for anything Covid were the ones who ordered mandates - who forced masks, shutdowns and vaccines on people - and that was never Trump.
If you understood that, then President Trump would be still be able to count on your vote. But you don’t, so he can’t.
