Haley faces growing third-party speculation
The Hill ^ | 4 March 2024 | JULIA MANCHESTER

Speculation surrounding the possibility of Nikki Haley launching a third-party bid is mounting as she struggles to win delegates going into Super Tuesday.

The group No Labels has said it would be open to the possibility of Haley leading its ticket as it scrambles to find a candidate to top its ticket. Haley, for her part, has brushed off the No Labels speculation, arguing her place is in the Republican Party. But with no primary wins under her belt and a general air of uncertainty surrounding her endgame in the presidential race, Haley is spurring talk of a possible third-party insurgent bid.

Wasn’t John Kasich the guy always filling his mouth on his campaign trail?

Especially when you consider that they’re just asking swamp creatures to run on their label of no labels. Not only that but some of the ugliest, slimiest swamp creatures.

They run one of her commercials on youtube and she sounds like such a nasty, hysterical nag.

We watch the entire commercial every time to make sure she has to pay.

I would vote Kennedy before Nimby, pretty sure a few other people would too.

Unfortunately McAfee got Wacked and is not around to run anymore.

Haley is flirting with third parties to force Trump into picking her as his running mate, to prevent her from splitting the R vote and handing the election to the Dems, Perot style.

Kasich. I once had high hopes for him in the mid-90’s. Now he’s like the rest of them. Same with Thune, Cornyn.

This year we can do something about Wicker in Ms. He’s got a legit challenger. Braun read the tea leaves and hopes to kick himself upstairs to the governorship. Hopefully the Lt. Gov. cuts him off. Mittens-good riddance. Wyoming is solid red and Barasso is old. Another missed opportunity-nobody to step up.

2026. Cornyn-Sullivan-Risch-Cassidy(especially), Tillis, Linda, Rounds.
Sarah could take on Sullivan but it’s too risky.

BY ALL MEANS, she should run 3rd party. Where can I donate to her 3rd party campaign?

Everybody knows she’d take far more votes from Biden than she did from Trump.

People here want Trump to hire or run with RFK Jr. I say no. I wouldn’t want to see that family name reintroduced to the younger generation. It plays into the messiah complex the sheeple the people long for-think the Kenyan.

From the behavior I’ve witnessed, this broad should never be voted into any position, anywhere, for any reason whatsoever.

I also say no to RFK Jr. as V.P.

The VP should be chosen with the thought that he or she might have to step in, if something happens to the POTUS. I agree with RFK Jr. on a few things, but he supports almost all Democrat policies.

I could see potentially putting him in charge of Health and Human Services.

RFK, Jr.? If they want to vote for a radical liberal, they might as well go all the way and support AOC. In the end, there’s not a whole lot of difference between the two.

We need a national Sore-Loser law for all federal offices. Garbage like Nikki and that meddlesome senator from Alaska would be prevented from intentionally causing damage in fits of pique over being rejected by their party rank and file.

Wouldn’t “Sore Loser” laws come into play and effectively quash this?

There’s some question about whether state “sore loser laws” can constitutionally apply to federal elections, including presidential elections. It’s hard to find accurate, up-to-date information.

By one account six states have laws that would expressly forbid Haley from running on a third party ticket: Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Texas, Arkansas and Alabama. Those laws, and the laws of other states that might prevent her from running, would be subject to legal challenges. There would be a lot of legal problems if Haley tried to run as a third party candidate.
