Source: Tivaz Artillery "The ATACMS cassette (cluster Warhead) has arrived on Ebal Radar from S-500."
(Possibly the 76T6/77T6 ABM Engagement Active Phased Array Rada used for tracking high-speed ballistic targets like... ATACMS)
Crimean Wind and other UA sources are reporting the possible destruction of a new Russian S-500 Prometheus air defense system near the Dzhankoi Air Field in occupied Crimea.
NASA FIRMS thermal imagery shows a fire at the presumed location of the MGM-140 ATACMS M39A1 Block I missile strike which was acquired at 1300 Kyiv Time (1000 UTC) on June 28, 2024 (today).
Possible Geolocation: 45.680718, 34.423126

45.680718, 34.423126 on Google Maps
This is being reported all over x.com.
I believe Ukraine MoD is the source for all of the blog posts.
I am still skeptical, however FIRMs data is promising.
The name S-500 is bogus...it should be SA-2 V5.
Explosions in Crimea!
Where did you get the SA-2 V5 NATO designation?
The SA2 system (Russian: С-75) was a Soviet era system: NATO SA-2 Guideline. We used to dread these things when the turned on their radars as they all had the V760 missile with nuclear warheads.
The Russians call the system: C-500 Прометей (S-500 Prometheus). Only one battalion made, according to the Wiki entry.
Their SA systems seem quite adept at “literally “ intercepting atacms.
Wonder what the status of R&D teams on these “great” interceptors is?
Just add another Soviet er ah Russian potential military export possibility going up in flames
Theoretical or advertised capabilities meet reality.
Question, how long does it take to reload an SA after firing, and breakdown move and set up after moving and compared that to a patriot system
