Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Russia is open to studying Trump's proposals on Ukraine, but that doesn't mean they'll support them, says MFA spokesperson Zakharova.

She claims Trump has not offered any constructive solutions that align with Russia's interests.

Chuck is quite reliable.

Hopefully, we will get some BDA in a day or 2.

NEPTUNE STRIKE: Multiple sources are reporting that a multi-wave Ukrainian attack is hitting targets in occupied Crimea.

At this hour, Neptune surface to surface missiles, Peklo and Palyanytsia cruise missiles and possibly ATACMS are smashing multiple Russian bases.

“a multi-wave Ukrainian attack is hitting targets in occupied Crimea.”

Let’s liberate Crimea for (Orthodox) Christmas!

Send more Artillery!

Seriously, make Crimea untenable for the Russians. As LTG (Ret) Ben Hodges has often pointed out, Ukrainian control of Crimes is vital to an enduring peace, because of resource revenue and sea control.

Does not matter: shooting down Group threats is not a carrier’s mission.

She claims Trump has not offered any constructive solutions that align with Russia’s interests.

The only constructive solutions that align with Russia’s interests is resurrecting the Soviet Union. Anything short of that is a non-starter for Putin.

lol not my point, but there was thinking that went into the expense of having that much excess power, curious what is on the drawing table.

Obviously it is easier to have power from the start rather than trying to add after the fact, also imagine there are some ideas for that power

Tesla “jet”?😂🤔

Nor is he likely to. Ever. But Russia will end up taking them anyway.

More historic Russian market share lost for good. Kyiv Independent reports:

“Austrian oil and gas company OMV has terminated its long-term gas supply contract with Russia’s Gazprom Export, the OMV website reported on Dec. 11.

The contract was originally set to last until 2040.

The company cited “numerous material violations of contractual obligations” by Gazprom. According to OMV, gas deliveries stopped on November 16, 2024

“Thanks to the successful efforts of our gas team over the past three years, OMV is well positioned to leverage our diversified supply of alternative gas sources, ensuring the security of supply for our customers,” said OMV CEO Alfred Stern, highlighting current gas reserves from Norway, Austria, and LNG sources.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer also commented on the situation, stating on X that Russia’s attempt to weaponize energy “didn’t work.”

“Austria will not allow itself to be blackmailed by Russia,” he said…

…OMV supplies about 30% of the Austrian gas market, and its biggest shareholder is the Austrian government.

The problem of excess power capacity is an interesting one. I am currently reading Cardinal of the Kremlin, the book printed in 1988, 2 years after The Hunt for Red October. The big issue in this book is nuclear arms negotiation, and the key to correct negotiation is the existence and level of development of a high power laser system by either side that can destroy the satellites high above the earth needed to conduct modern warfare.

We have already seen this issue recently regarding Musk’s Starlink system which has been so valuable to the Ukraine Army. The question is, how much has this capability for satellite warfare using laser beams been developed in the past 36 years? The task for both US and Russia in the book is to find out how advanced the other side is in development and figure out how to block it. Throw in Ryan and Afghan freedom fighters and it is an interesting adventure read.

Moscow is running out of money
cont.

Кремлевская табакерка

“I know for sure.” The Central Bank named the dates for the end of the SVO

The SVO should end between January 20 and early March next year. A high-ranking source in the Central Bank told us about this. “I have talked to many people about this topic and I know for sure: the SVO will end at the beginning of next year. Between January 20 and somewhere around the end of February or early March. It will depend on how the negotiations go, but they should be fairly quick,” our source is sure.

According to him, “the end of the SVO will certainly be affected by Trump's coming to power in the United States (who will officially become president on January 20, - ed.)”. The source refused to say what exactly this influence would be, but assured that “a certain process is underway, the result of which will be the end of hostilities.” “And it's good that it is underway. As you can see, we cannot cope with the dollar again. There are problems with prices, with mortgages. I hope all this will end soon,” the Central Bank representative added. It should be noted that the Central Bank has long been in favor of ending the SVO. In particular, a supporter of the cessation of hostilities is Elvira Nabiullina, who is constantly criticized in connection with problems in the economy, but cannot solve them. And in personal conversations, she often says that it is the SVO that prevents improving the situation and preventing further deterioration. Whether we can trust the forecast of the Central Bank representative, we do not know. On the one hand, his inside information has always been accurate. On the other hand, the Kremlin has not confirmed plans to end the SVO in January-March 2025. “I don't know, maybe something will end someday. But we have no specific plans on this matter. No negotiations are underway,” a source in the Presidential Administration told us.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, December 11, 2024

The Wagner Group reportedly continues to incentivize recruitment by advertising high salaries and signing bonuses. A Russian milblogger claimed that a prominent Wagner commander reportedly met with personnel from the “Istra” Regiment (a battalion comprised of former Wagner personnel with organizational support from Moscow Oblast officials) near Moscow who intend to soon deploy to an unspecified location.[70] The Istra Regiment reportedly offers a 2.3 million ruble (approximately $21,800) one-time payment and a 4.8 million ruble (approximately $45,500) yearly salary for the first year of service. ISW has observed that as of at least December 4 official Wagner recruitment channels continue to offer competitive salaries for operations in Africa.[71]

12DEC2024 Inside A Secret, Expanding Russian Lab Site With A Bioweapons Legacy

Little-noticed video footage reviewed by RFE/RL’s Russian Service sheds light on a secretive military research center that is notorious for its role in the Soviet Union's biological weapons program and has undergone a major expansion since Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Russian state media footage of a January 2024 inspection by then-Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu offers a rare glimpse inside the restricted facility outside Moscow, showing equipment and infrastructure that experts say are typical of biological laboratories designed for work with the world's most dangerous known pathogens.

A Russian virologist who wished to remain anonymous told RFE/RL’s Russian Service that he “cannot think of a ‘civilian’ use [for pathogens in aerosol and powder form], only for destroying the enemy's manpower with a cloud of pathogens.” “However…the effectiveness of such an aerosol in the actual reality of modern warfare is highly questionable. Well, except for exterminating the population of cities,” the virologist said.

More on NJ drone activity:

Politician claims there is an Iranian mother ship off East Coast, DOD says otherwise. Fact: Iran does have a drone mother ship. The ship is usually parked in one place, but now is gone. Where, no one seems to know.

The US has holes in its radar coverage. So it is possible the drones are coming ashore through one of those holes.

Why aren’t they shot down? Last night’s Hannity show began on the drone topic. Toward the end on the first segment, some guest says something about why the military has not shoot them down to the effect they are not allowed to do that, and if some private citizen does, he will go to jail. I was out of the room when those comments were offered, so I cannot say if that is accurate - someone will have to find a clip of that show to verify or quash.

Lasers, Microwaves, Missiles, Guns Not on The Table For Domestic Drone Defense
Policy hurdles are limiting what capabilities the U.S. military can even consider to help provide critical domestic anti-drone defenses after years of inaction.
