This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Goes back to what is the definition of “is” lol
I don't know... Recharge time would probably be Classified Secret or higher.
That time is the key to a successful laser weapon or just the run-of-the-mill one shot wonder.
The US Navy with all the power of those large ships have, can only muster one or two shots, then then have to rest while they recharge. Not ready for combat. Likely neither is the Brit one.
And what are power needs and what is it supplied by?
Side bar, as I understand it the Gerald Ford has 3 times the electrical
Capacity that it is using at the present. Sounds like they planned for this and other high energy systems
The usual sounds like dem shills election morning. Lol
Testing against shaheds would be warranted.
I believe the U.S. Navy would need the laser system to kill anti-ship missiles and hypersonic missiles, necessitating a high power laser.
I don’t know the physics, but the power is a lot. The Ford is not the ship tasked with Group defense, but rather the Cruisers and Destroyers.
Power is something like the inverse square rule - the further the distance, the more power needed to achieve a desired effect.
Laser were installed on several ships - not carriers - and are still in testing stages for the prototypes. I think the War Zone has one or more articles on it.
to kill anti-ship missiles and hypersonic missiles

Also tasked with taking out high speed attack boats like the Iranians use. test have been good, but the weapon needs to linger on the target for some period of time to be successful.
