Military objectives based on political whims rarely have good outcomes.
The German Wehrmacht of WW2 foind that out and Putins troops are finding that out as well

Crimea is attacked by drones. The S-400 launcher was damaged, there were fatalities
On the afternoon of Tuesday, March 19, the enemy attacked Crimea with three drones. According to our sources in the General Staff and among the military located on the peninsula, two drones were shot down. One, unfortunately, damaged the S-400 launcher in the Armyansk area.
“The damage is serious, but there is hope that the installation can be repaired,” said one of our interlocutors.
According to preliminary data, 3 soldiers were killed and 2 were wounded as a result of the strike. Data on losses is still being clarified.
The state of FR:

That is truly sad
I think my favorite is “NATO is being destroyed” by war in Ukraine
NATO was being destroyed through apathy, I think the opposite is true. Who reallly gains from NATO being disbanded, Russia!
If that is truly Jim’s comment, then much of what is happening FR, makes perfect sense now
Yes it makes sense.
People need to vote with dollars or lack there of.

Sad. And a deciding factor in determining if or how much will be donated going forward. When 'conservative' comes to mean libertarian, I must stand and disagree.
“From Russia, Elaborate Tales of Fake Journalists”
“A young man calling himself Mohamed al-Alawi appeared in a YouTube video in August. He described himself as an investigative journalist in Egypt with a big scoop: The mother-in-law of Ukraine’s president had purchased a villa near Angelina Jolie’s in El Gouna, a resort town on the Red Sea.
The story, it turned out, was not true. Ukraine denied it, and the owner of the villa refuted it. Also disconnected from reality: Alawi’s claim to being a journalist.
Still, his story caromed through social media and news outlets from Egypt to Nigeria and ultimately to Russia — which, according to researchers, is where the story all began.
The story seemed to fade, but not for long. Four months later, two new videos appeared on YouTube. They said Mohamed al-Alawi had been beaten to death in Hurghada, a town about 20 miles south of El Gouna. The suspected killers, according to the videos: Ukraine’s secret service agents.
These claims were no more factual than the first, but they gave new life to the old lie. Another round of posts and news reports ultimately reached millions of internet users around the world, elevating the narrative so much that it was even echoed by members of the U.S. Congress while debating continued military assistance to Ukraine.”
When Free Republic comes to mean Free RuZZia...
When America First comes to mean America Alone...
Good luck with that, because there’s this from Romans 1:25:
They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is forever worthy of praise! Amen.Your better plan is to quit, go home and make peace with your neighbors.
I have it on good authority Heaven likes it when you do that.
But, this war thing y’all are doing to your neighbors again this century the same as last century? Not so much …
FR is in for some dark days. I’m out fishing for sites that are still conservative.
I agree.
Let me know if you find any good ones. One of the main attractions of FR is the format. With all its maintenance warts, its still much easier to navigate, find topics, retrace old threads, track comments, etc than any of the other cookie cutter sites I have come across. People complain about either not having a like button or not being able to edit posts after they are up. The easy navigation outweighs those negatives for me.
But format (and no commercials) is not going to be enough if the site becomes filled with nasty and ignorant posters who want to bully opposing views. No skin off me, but why should I waste time? I already avoid commenting on more than a few topics because its like beating your head on a wall. Sometimes I make a comment on these threads just to not feel muzzled, but knowing I will regret the waste of time it will lead to. Arguing with idiots, zealots, trolls, and children is never fruitful.
JR said he would like to see NATO disbanded, he didn’t say that you can’t have a different opinion and post in support of our military and Western alliance and your reasons for it.
Not everyone sees the future as an upcoming global struggle against China and its allies such as Russia and North Korea, etc., against the West of America and NATO, and our Pacific allies, where we will need every ally and their capabilities and support we can get.
perhaps, perhaps not
“Ukraine loan gains traction in GOP”
“Congressional Republicans are getting serious about one potential solution to the monthslong fight over Ukraine aid: packaging at least some of it as a loan.
The notion has been floating around for weeks, inspired by former president Donald Trump’s recent statements that all U.S. foreign aid — not just to Ukraine — ought to be loaned, not given outright.
But the possibility is now being taken a lot more seriously. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) hinted at the new strategy Monday, posting online that he floated the prospect of a “no-interest, waivable loan” during a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The loan option is being taken seriously in the House, as well, where Ukraine aid has been stalled for months. Some of Ukraine’s Republican defenders have taken the idea and shopped it to Speaker Mike Johnson. The speaker, according to people familiar with the talks, told them to put a proposal together, test the waters with their GOP colleagues and then — if the conference approves — perhaps they’ll pursue it.”

There are hundreds, no exaggeration, of Pro Russian trolls here - many are long time residents from 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001
Some of these pride themselves on attacking female posters. Some are actual residents of Russia, one was an army officer during Soviet times.
There goal seems to be a takeover of the site by driving away any opposition from contributing funds, else to just get the site shut down completely.
There was the yacht story as well, but it was the “media” that was giving him “journalist “ status, as if that means something positive. Tucker claims to be one, till he is hauled into court, then he is just a person with a platform and following
The information operation that QAnon was part of was very successful. It was never about making America "Great Again", but convincing the the weak minded that America was the bad guy. Conservatives were driven to Russian propaganda sites, where they consumed anti-American and anti-European conspiracy garbage for years. They were convinced everything bad in the world is America's fault. People are litterally cheering for the downfall of American greatness and the rise of a new world order led by China, Russia, Iran and BRICS. They cheer the fall of the dollar and fantasize about some future BRICS currency. Posts on FR about our military are now consistently and openly hostile and demeaning. The level of intellectual discourse is the lowest in the 23 years I've been here.
Dark days ahead? I'm not seeing much sunshine now.
But with or without FR, life is amazing. It's sunny outside and I'm out fishing for fish...
