This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

I meant to imply the VVS/VKS was being converted to front line troops - sorry for my confusion.
3 weeks? How about the time it takes for them to get from where they are to the line. Hours?

“Exclusive: US intelligence suggests Russian military is advising Houthis inside Yemen”
“Russia dispatched GRU military intelligence officers to advise Houthis on targeting vessels”
“Russian military intelligence officers are believed to have been deployed to Yemen to assist the Iran-backed Houthis with targeting commercial vessels in the Red Sea, Middle East Eye can reveal.
Members of Russia’s GRU military intelligence are operating in the Houthi-controlled territory of Yemen in an advisory role, a senior US official told MEE, speaking on condition of anonymity and citing US intelligence.
The exact nature of the Russians’ role is murky, but the US official said that GRU officers have been operating in Yemen for “several months” to assist the Houthis in their targeting of commercial shipping, which the Houthis say is in solidarity with besieged Palestinians in Gaza.
The sensitive deployment comes as Russia has been eyeing ways to step up its support for the Iran-backed Houthis.
President Vladimir Putin mulled providing the Houthis with sophisticated anti-ship cruise missiles, but was dissuaded from doing so after the direct intervention of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, MEE revealed in June.”
Despite criticisms, many legitimate, the F-35 has been proving itself dominant in air combat exercises. It was never designed to be an air superiority fighter, but it can be dominant over virtually any 4th gen aircraft. But the real value has yet to be demonstrated, and that is in the networking that is touched on in this article. The author speaks of 4th gen fighters, but the real goal is unmanned aircraft/drones, and integration with battle management networks.
I am led to believe that F-22 pilots really, really like having F-35s as part of the strike package.

They should, since the two planes were originally designed to work together.

ftrpilot: [India is facing a dilemma.
They bought russian hardware because they considered it best value and western hardware was overpriced.]
Theoretically, production secrets were handed over. If true, it’s not fueled much, if any, indigenous arms production, let alone a branching out of local variants from the Russian originals. My impression is most sales are of knockdown kits assembled in India.
But a lack of political strings, of conditions on use and resale, probably ensures India will always buy some Russian gear. Can’t be used in Kashmir, or to attack Pakistan, are non-starters for Indian decision makers.
Imagine losing access to spare parts, having your entire multi-billion dollar investment stranded, become scrap in all but name because you breached a use restriction. Indonesia had its F-16s become hangar queens because of a human rights-related parts embargo. That’s something the Indians are hoping to avoid. Their periodically restive Muslims, numbering in the hundreds of millions, are occasionally put down with methods objectionable to more delicate sensibilities.
It has been my understanding that F-35s main role was to be the vanguard of an attack. To be able to get close enoigh with its stealth characteristics to take out threats like radars and then send out targeting information to aircraft like the F-22s, F-15s, and F-18s which can stand off from greater distances and launch the ordnance they are carrying.
The ability to do things like control drones and other unmanned vehicles is a wild capability

Will they stop sending conscripts to regions bordering Ukraine?
The Ministry of Defense is preparing a decision according to which conscripts will be prohibited from serving in regions bordering Ukraine. In particular, we are talking about the Belgorod, Kursk and Bryansk regions. may also be included in the list Rumor has it that the Rostov region, although it does not border with Ukraine after the annexation of new regions.
The formal reason is the recent incident in the Kursk region, when four conscripts were killed as a result of an enemy attack. Unofficially, they say that the leadership of the border regions did turn to the central government, but not to the Kremlin, but to the Minister of Defense.
If conscripts are no longer sent to the Belgorod, Kursk, and Bryansk regions, then more contract soldiers will need to be sent there and used to perform a number of everyday tasks. In general, the Ministry of Defense is of the opinion that many conscripts will be able to attract contract service. Including an increase in one-time payments.
The generals are also convinced that, being in the front-line regions, conscripts must get used to the atmosphere in the North Military District zone.
All our interlocutors agree that there will be no official expansion of the SVO area. The reason lies on the political plane - the Kremlin cannot admit that over 2.5 years of hostilities, the Special Operation has expanded due to the “participation” of border regions in it [ the Special Operation ].
It is expected that the ban on sending conscripts may begin on September 1.

16 sailors were killed in Sevastopol. Will Belousov hear us after this?
We decided not to comment on the enemy’s rumor that was sunk in Sevastopol. our submarine Rostov-on-Don
But to avoid insinuations, sad information must be reported. A recent enemy missile attack in Sevastopol killed 16 sailors. 2 of them are officers. We will not reveal where exactly the missiles hit.
We broke this news for a reason.
Firstly, the truth about this emergency, we repeat, will allow us to avoid further speculation.
Secondly, this time we hope that Andrei Belousov will hear our numerous requests. And it will strengthen the air defense of Crimea and Sevastopol. The situation, as we see, is critical.
We advise the enemy not to rejoice. Our military will definitely take revenge on you.

Robbers are increasingly wearing military uniforms
We have come into our hands with statistics of crimes that were committed in the first 7 months of this year. The police note that the number of crimes committed by people in military uniform has increased significantly (when compared with 2023). Law enforcement officers suggest that criminals often wear military uniforms as a diversion.
In particular, in the Kursk, Rostov and Belgorod regions, as well as in the DPR, criminals were detained who were engaged in thefts and pretended to be military personnel. This is especially often used in small cities and towns at night and in the evening.
Citizens are asked to be vigilant and report, if they spot suspicious people. Even if they are people in military uniform. Often criminals are given away by their shoes - they can wear sneakers or even slippers with their military uniform.

More likely soldiers are becoming robbers.
“Moscow’s Spies Were Stealing US Tech — Until the FBI Started a Sabotage Campaign”
“During the early days of Silicon Valley, a tech industry entrepreneur teamed up with the FBI to ship faulty devices to Moscow.”
“One day at the dawn of the 1980s, an FBI agent in his 30s named Rick Smith walked into the Balboa Café, an ornate, historic watering hole in San Francisco’s leafy Cow Hollow neighborhood. Smith, who was single at the time, lived nearby and regularly frequented the spot.
As he approached the oak wood bar to order a drink he suddenly spotted a familiar face — someone Smith had met about a year before, after the man had walked into the Soviet Consulate in San Francisco. He was Austrian by birth, but a denizen of Silicon Valley, an entrepreneur who operated as a middleman between American tech companies and European countries hungry for the latest hi-tech goods.
The Austrian had visited the consulate to drum up business behind the Iron Curtain. The tech entrepreneur may not have put much thought into how closely the building was being watched by FBI spy hunters. And why should he? At the time, there wasn’t necessarily anything suspicious about trying to conduct commerce with the Soviets. In 1979, for instance, there was $4.5 billion in legal trade between the U.S. and Soviet Union; about $200 million of that was in high-tech goods. But bureau counterintelligence routinely blanketed the consulate with surveillance. And their interest was piqued. After the FBI clocked the Austrian’s visit to the consulate, Smith had reached out.”

Alter and then sell.
“But such tech-focused sanctions-evasion schemes by America’s foes offer opportunities for U.S. intelligence, too — including the opportunity to launch ultra-secret sabotage campaigns to alter sensitive technologies before they reach their final destination.
There is a long but shadowy history of U.S. covert action in this domain. A reputed explosion of a major oil pipeline in Siberia in 1982 may have been the fruit of a White House-directed campaign to infiltrate the Soviets’ technology supply chains. And, at least since the George W. Bush administration, U.S. spy agencies have overseen programs to seed faulty tech into Iran’s nuclear enrichment and missile programs, as well as sabotage North Korea’s missile capabilities. But most sabotage campaigns remain shrouded in secrecy, and details about their actual mechanics are few and far between. With U.S.-Russia relations at their lowest ebb since the 1980s — and with Moscow more voracious for prohibited American technology than in decades — it is a good bet that U.S. intelligence agencies are currently rethinking ways to infiltrate Russia’s illicit supply chains, to stymie their war machine.”
The attack resulted in:
- The destruction of a Su-34 fighter jet
- The destruction of an aviation weapons depot
- Damage to the flight control center
- Minor damage to the airfield's engineering equipment
This incident follows a previous significant drone attack in April 2024, where over 50 drones were deployed but none reached their targets due to advanced electronic warfare systems. It appears that the Ukrainian forces have upgraded their drones to be more resistant to electronic warfare.
