Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Drone Raid on Russia’s Major Explosives Factory—Ukraine Targets Heart of Kremlin’s Shell Production
Vlad Litnarovych | Oct 06, 2025

Excerpt:

Ukraine’s General Staff has confirmed a successful strike on one of Russia’s most critical defense industry sites—the Zavod im. Ya. M. Sverdlova explosives plant in the Nizhny Novgorod region, some 750 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, on October 6.

The attack triggered “numerous explosions and a fire in the target area,” according to the official statement.

The Sverdlov plant, located outside the city of Dzerzhinsk, is Russia’s largest producer of explosives used to fill everything from artillery shells to ballistic missiles.

It is also, by Moscow’s own declarations, the country’s only industrial-scale manufacturer of octogen (HMX) and hexogen (RDX), key compounds that underpin almost the entire range of Russian ammunition.

Unique – the figures given for the Russian and Western populations in that Putin speech you quote are off. The population of the combined West is a billion and more. Against them, 150 million Russians, plus some minor and often shaky support from the SCO/BRICS countries many of whom, maybe most, are sitting on the fence waiting to see how the conflict plays out.

That imbalance is not as uneven as it looks. The combined West is disunited and most of its component countries are in decline. And even in combination we do not have the military clout required to cope with the Russians in this theatre, nor the economic clout to destroy the Russian economy.

It’s still a significant imbalance and we are still formidable in information war and in what is now being termed “dirty war”. It won’t do the Russians much good when they win in Ukraine if we leave parts of the region a radioactive wasteland: there are indications that we’re wanting to intensify the attacks on NPP’s. Nor would it do the Russians much good when they win in Ukraine if we manage to set the Caucasus on fire, or some other stretch of that long Russian perimeter. Our military and economic impotence doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of other ways the West can damage Russia.

That explains the very cautious approach the Russians are adopting to the conflict. If the Russians respond to the current provocations that response will be taken as proof of Russian hostile intent. That enabling the Western governments to ramp up war fever. That’s not what the Russians want. They are looking to put this conflict to bed and get on with their business elsewhere. It’s not in their interest to extend or intensify the conflict. So they’ll roll with the punches provided those punches don’t get too damaging.

That doesn’t suit the Russian hard liners. But I’m going to guess Putin has his hard liners well in hand and will stay the course. I hope that guess is the right one. It really is quite astonishing how far our Western governments are going in mounting direct and indirect attacks on Russia, leaving aside the derogatory remarks the Russians are hearing from us. But that makes it all the more important for us that Putin continues to roll with the punches. We in Europe in particular would wake up with a most disagreeable jerk if the Russian hard liners got their hands on the wheel.

So we’d better hope that Putin does stay the course, A sobering thought, that my security and the security of my family is being put at risk by the actions of my own government; and that that security is now, in reality, in the hands of a foreign politician.

You are forgetting that China, Russia’s ally, has around 1.5 billion people making the Russia/China alliance at 1.65 billion against the West’s ‘disunited’ (you got that part right) 1 billion.

Dima/MS:

Fuel tanks hit in Chernigov.

Rocket and metal works and Nato weapon logistic hub in Lvov.

Several explosions in Odessa, possibly underground fuel tanks.

Rail station and trains hit in Shostka.

Clashes in Poltavka fortified area (East of Gulyapole).

AFU tried to launch counter-attack Sosnivka and Novoselika, no conclusions or proof of success exist for now. The aim is apparently to attempt to prevent the AFU collapse and slow down RUAF advance in Uspenivka and Orestopil, and prevent encirclement of Gulyapole.

AFU attacks in Ivanovka repelled.

RUAF continues dissecting AFU positions in Pokrovsk, especially in western and south-east part of the city. AFU abandoning SE parts.

AFU attacks in Novotoretske/Shaktove pocket were finally repelled and AFU exhausted, they are now falling back in Shaktove. RUAF already cut the northern road from Shaktove, potentially pocketing some AFU forces.

RUAF established position in NE part of Rodynske, NE of Pokrovsk.

Noose around Pokrovsk tightening.

RUAF take fortified area west of Zarichne, NE of Lyman. Apparently this was relatively weakly defended after defeat AFU attack on Zarichne a few days ago.

Losing Lyman will put Slavyansk, main AFU HQ and supply position in the region, in a potential flanked position.

RUAF improved position in west/center/south Kupyansk, pocketing AFU forces in the railway station. AFU unable to stabilize here.

The one billion west are only if Japan and SK are added. They are both US possession but do not appear to have supplied much war material for the war on Russia. SK is one country that still has manufacturing power. SK alone could have supplied the artillery shells the west required but refused.

Japan and South Korea will not operate as bases for a US attack on China or Russia, even their oligarchs understand what would happen next. Neither will ASEAN except perhaps the Philippines under vassal Bong Bong. The European oligarchs will also have huge problems corralling their populations in any major attack on Russia.
Time for the US to retrench while sucking up as much financial and production resources from the vassals as possible. China+Russia+Iran+North Korea is just too strong, especially when the rest of the world will remain neutral and ignore any tariffs/sanctions. Russia will take what it needs from Ukraine, and China will one day be quietly and peacefully reunited with its renegade province.
The US will be coming for Brazil and any other South American nation resisting its hemispheric hegemony though. Venezuela may be a demonstration to scare the other children into compliance. Most probably ending in another US disaster.

‘Putin's palace’: Builders’ story of luxury, mould and fake walls

The mysterious “Putin's Palace” that featured in a viral video by Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny appeared to be full of luxuries gifted to President Vladimir Putin by wealthy friends. But then Russian TV broadcast a completely different report. Gone was the sprawling palace's voluptuous decor, replaced instead by bare, concrete walls. The property looked as if it was being thoroughly rebuilt - raising questions about what exactly is happening at the estate. The mould problem was brought up in the video and Navalny claimed that the palace was undergoing reconstruction because of it. Two builders say they saw the mould themselves.

“Walls and ceilings were covered in mould. Just ordinary mould - green. In places even black. It had affected the whole building. We were shocked,” Stanislav told the BBC.

The builders believe the whole building has had to be disinfected at least twice. They think the problems are down to both the building's proximity to the sea and a lack of ventilation. The problems are first thought to have emerged when a piece of plaster nearly fell on a cleaner on the lower ground floor of the property, near the swimming pool. Initially the plan was for cosmetic refurbishments but once they had opened up the “fake walls”, Igor said they realised the mould had spread all over the house.

Many of the workers who told the BBC they had worked at the site in the past 15 years speak of frequent reconstruction taking place. “They kept building and demolishing, building and then demolishing,” one builder said.

There was also a large gym built out of marble, but that only lasted two or three years, he added. “I was so surprised when a digger turned up one day and started smashing it up.”

❗️On the contact line, more than 85% of all targets are currently being hit by drones, said Oleksandr Kamyshin, Advisor to the President of Ukraine on Strategic Issues.

That is why the Muscovites are not sending in heavy equipment, but untrained personnel on motorcycles to test whether it is possible to advance. It is not, so their losses are mounting, and soon there will be open opposition to the war in Moscow.

““I have already made the decision to send Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine,” said Trump”

He sounded a bit more equivocal in the video clip, but I hope they will go, in time for the Winter Freezefest of Russia’s oil infrastructure.

The Ukrainians must have some interesting plans for them.

It could be inferred that he said that, but that’s not exactly what he said. When asked if he had made a decision, he said “Yeah, I sort of made a decision, pretty much ... I think I want to find out what they’re doing with them, where they’re sending them...” One could infer that if he had decided “no”, he wouldn’t have questions, it would just be a no. But I think this is more to keep Russia guessing, and I still don’t believe we will send Tomahawks, but will likely send something else. Probably an air launched cruise missile (in addition to the ERAMs we have already announced). Probably in 6 months to a year, after seeing how the ERAMs work out.
