Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Kremlin snuff box, 05/09/24
https://t.me/s/kremlin_secrets

What did Putin, Gerasimov and Shoigu persuade Lukashenko to do?

On the eve of Victory Day, Vladimir Putin received Alexander Lukashenko. The fact of the meeting itself was not hidden; both leaders announced it the next day, emphasizing that the conversation dragged on until late at night.

At some point, the leaders of the states were joined by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov.

Initially, the meeting was in a tete-a-tete format. Lukashenko and Putin discussed relations between the countries and some aspects of economic interaction. Very soon the conversation turned to military topics.

And Lukashenko, quite unexpectedly, said: “How can I help, Vladimir Vladimirovich?” The President did not expect such a move, so he said that we were “coping with it for now.”

At the same time, Vladimir Vladimirovich showed Alexander Grigorievich a map of military operations and told several stories about the heroic battles of the Russian army.

Lyrics aside, Putin was extremely respectful during this meeting. Even too much. Sources attribute this to the fact that the Kremlin now urgently needs Belarus, primarily to distract the attention of the West.

There are two directions that were already discussed in the presence of Shoigu and Gerasimov.

Firstly, exercises with nuclear weapons carriers.

Secondly, the threat of an offensive from NATO countries and the need to ••ensure control over the Suwalki corridor to Kaliningrad••.

••Shoigu insisted that the security of Kaliningrad in the face of increased escalation from the West must be ensured. The situation in the Baltic Sea has become difficult for the Russian fleet, since NATO’s military presence has grown significantly after Finland and Sweden joined the Alliance.••

Lukashenko, for his part, transmitted intelligence information about the presence of fortifications and defense structures in the Suwalki corridor area. The President of Belarus noted that taking control of the 100-kilometer corridor to Kaliningrad “will not be an easy walk.”

For his part, Lukashenko promised to help with logistics, but emphasized that the participation of Belarusian troops is extremely undesirable.

Both Shoigu and Gerasimov and, in fact, Putin insisted that Belarus would have to take part in the breakthrough.

••••And this will be a preemptive strike that will ruin the enemy’s plans. However, and this is important, Lukashenko did not say the last “yes”••••.

As for nuclear weapons, there are currently no serious specialists in Belarus, which is why joint exercises are needed. Information about the alleged preparation of a nuclear strike on Ukraine is complete nonsense.

The good thing about the nuclear button is that people are afraid of it only until it is pressed. Then the fact of intimidation stops working.

Rumor has it that Lukashenko managed to agree on a number of economic preferences for Belarus. At the same time, he was flattered by the respect with which Putin received him.

Will we take Kharkov? The military named two options

As we reported back in April (https://t.me/kremlin_secrets/3998), our army launched attacks in the direction of Kharkov. As we warned, there are not enough resources to take the city at the moment. But there is hope that Kharkov will be ours.

“Nothing special is happening now, we are attacking, the enemy is fighting back, there are losses on both sides. There are certain successes, but it’s better to talk about them later,” a source in the General Staff told us.

When asked whether Kharkov will be ours, he has so far refused to answer. He said it was early.

And a source in the Ministry of Defense claims that now there are two options in which Kharkov will be ours in the coming months.

“The first hope is increased mobilization. And quite urgent.

“The second is the enemy’s panic. We hope that the crests, primarily the civilian population, will massively ignore our offensive and begin to flee from Kharkov and other cities. That civilians will create problems for the enemy military, and we will take advantage of this. This way, fewer guys will die,” our interlocutor believes.

Another source in the Ministry of Defense confirmed such options for the liberation of Kharkov. But he also sees problems. Regarding mobilization, he said, “good movements have begun. Not everyone can see them, but they are coming, and there will be more people in the army.” But he has doubts about the second point.

“Military correspondents do lousy work. It seems like they are spreading panic, but I don’t see a mass evacuation from Kharkov or, say, Sumy. They don’t work well.

“They are getting money in vain. I hope that Sergei Kuzhugetovich will soon clear them out ( we wrote about such plans - ed. https://t.me/kremlin_secrets/4044), leave them effective, and we will work better. And the crests will be afraid of us, and not make plans to kill our guys. It’s high time,” says the source.

He added that “the poor work of the military correspondents is visible, if only by the fact that they poorly cope with their tasks in relation to the enemy. And this despite the fact that the army is advancing and we are delivering successful attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector.”

In turn, one of the popular military correspondents told us that he and his colleagues “work great.” And he fears that they simply want to make them guilty, if the army fails to cope with tasks in Kharkov or other directions.

Another US precision-guided weapon falls prey to Russian electronic warfare, US says
A U.S. defense official would not provide specifics, but is likely referring to Boeing’s Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb.
https://www.defenseone.com/threats/2024/04/another-us-precision-guided-weapon-falls-prey-russian-electronic-warfare-us-says/396141/

“However, the weapons were largely designed for a period before spoofers were so easy to set up, Clark said. “You didn’t really see the advent of miniaturized, capable GPS spoofers until the last ten years or so, because you needed the micro-electronics to be able to do it,” Clark said.”

“Russia has saturated the front with electronic warfare, Clark said. Truck-mounted electronic warfare systems primarily focused on jamming drones are located every 6 to 9 miles on Ukraine’s frontline, he said.”

Some versions of the SDB have guidance systems using GPS/INS. These versions should be able to defeat GPS jammers. Accuracy would be degraded from 3 meters to 10 meters.

If there are any GPS only GLSDBs in Ukraine's inventory, they should be upgraded to GPS/INS guidance.

The GBU-39 being used for the GLSDB has several options to get around GPS jamming, but we are unlikely to provide anything beyond the basic SDB. First, the DoD is upgrading many weapons to M-Code GPS receivers that are more resistant to jamming. Then there is the laser guided seeker GBU-39B/B version that has been demonstrated with GLSDB. You just need a drone to designate the target during the terminal guidance phase. Then there’s a Home On GPS-Jammer (HOG-J) seeker version of the GBU-39, though I’m not sure these are available in any number. Fire a couple of these a minute ahead of the attack to eliminate the jammers.

This article takes a wider look at the challenges of GPS jamming, and discusses some of the current solutions as well as some upcoming systems that will provide multiple alternatives.
