Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

“Any word on the 3 Chinese military transports that landed in Tehran?”

Sending Chinese women to Iran? Mao offered Kissinger 10,000,000 Chinese women.

Sending some Chinese weapons to Iran seems pointless. Nothing would make much of a difference.

Guessing the 3 flights were there to evacuate people and “stuff” from Iran. Maybe withdrawing some stuff they didn’t want Israel to destroy. Plus evacuating Chinese embassy staff and citizens.

This is conjecture on my part. Haven’t read anything definitive.

Kyiv Independent (19 June):

“The Russian economy appears to be “on the verge of a transition to recession,” Russian Economy Minister Maxim Reshetnikov said on June 19...

...”According to figures, we have a cooling stage (in the economy). But all our numbers are like a rearview mirror,” Reshetnikov said at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum when asked about Russia’s economic situation.

“According to current business perceptions, we are already, it seems, on the verge of a transition to a recession,” the minister added...

...Russia has been forced to slash key projects across various sectors in the face of an economic slowdown, brought on in part by plummeting oil prices. Major Russian exporters have also cut down on rail shipments of metals and oil products, even beyond earlier projected reductions....

...Analysts have connected this development to the central bank policies, sanctions, low oil prices, supply difficulties, and high inflation.”

Iranian oil exports flowing briskly. Their production/export capacity seems to be being preserved to fund the next regime, and enable the Bone-Crushing Sanctions to be put on Russia, without inconveniencing American drivers with much higher prices at the pump. Wise sequencing.

OilPrice.com (19 June):

“Iran is maintaining crude oil supply by loading tankers one at a time and repositioning floating storage closer to Asia, two vessel tracking firms told Reuters, as the country seeks to preserve a vital revenue stream while under Israeli attack.

Loadings at Kharg Island reached roughly 2.2 million barrels per day in recent days, a five-week high, while up to 8 million barrels of floating storage were shifted toward waters near China and Singapore, according to Bloomberg.

The logistical changes are part of a broader strategy to insulate Iran’s oil exports from military disruption. Shadow fleet tankers and offshore reserves allow Tehran to maintain flows despite rising freight rates and insurance premiums. VLCC charter costs have surged more than 130% as many operators avoid the Strait of Hormuz altogether.

Iran began accelerating shipments following Israeli airstrikes that targeted key energy infrastructure, prompting what OilPrice described as a “cargo clearout” to mitigate risk and secure revenue before further escalation.

While geopolitical risks remain elevated, global oil markets are holding steady. West Texas Intermediate hovered near $76 per barrel on Thursday, supported by expectations of continued oversupply through late 2025, per IEA forecasts.

Still, analysts warn that a closure or disruption of Hormuz—the route for one-fifth of global oil—could force prices well above $100, particularly if U.S. or Israeli actions escalate.

Iran’s ability to sustain exports without full port access underscores how wartime logistics, shadow tanker networks, and offshore storage are becoming key instruments in global oil security. That model, while effective for now, leaves markets exposed to even minor miscalculations in the Gulf.”

“According to The Economist, Israeli intelligence uncovered plans for a high-level meeting in Iran between senior nuclear scientists and IRGC Air Force commanders. Dubbed “the Rubicon,” the meeting aimed to begin planning the assembly of a nuclear warhead onto a missile—a key turning point in Iran’s nuclear project, shared with allies before the current strikes began.”

“A powerful Israeli airstrike hit the Lavizan district in northeastern Tehran tonight, with eyewitnesses reporting the use of bunker-busting munitions and heavy smoke rising from the area.

According to opposition sources inside Iran, the Lavizan area is believed to house secure Revolutionary Guard facilities — and possibly the hiding place of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei himself, along with other senior IRGC officials.

No official Iranian statement has been issued yet, and there is no confirmation regarding casualties or the presence of Khamenei at the time of the strike.”

Tehran is 7 1/2 hours ahead of the US East Coast, so we are entering prime time for bombing, depending on weather and enemy action. About 6 more hours of night.

Turandot apparently is performed every other year at the Verona Opera Festival.

It will be there in 2026, but we can’t make it. We are already traveling to Italy in Jan/Feb for the Milan Winter Olympics.

So 2028 will be the next opportunity. Its on my wife’s bucket list.

A drama of Operatic proportions will play out tonight.

India Today reports in the last hour:

“Speaking just hours after the Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheba was rocked by a missile hit, (Israeli Defense Minister) Katz pointed the finger at Iran’s highest authority. “The military has been instructed and knows that, in order to achieve all of its goals, this man absolutely should not continue to exist,” Katz said, referring to Khamenei.”

Kind of sad news, if Khameni was killed - it would mean that I would never get the chance to kill that SOB myself.

Bittersweet.

No one is an ally of Russia, just useful idiots. When not if these “allies” don’t serve Russias interests they will be betrayed.

Even members of their own alliance when pleas for help were sent to the Kremlin were ignored.

Of course at this point there is little assistance pitin can send to Iran and no value in doing so if he could
