Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

An hour ago I saw Public TV....including a (maternity?) hospital in Odessa

Public TV is pure propaganda.

Over the last seven days the Ukrainian military has launched over one thousand drones against targets in Russia. Most of these were shot down by Russian air defenses. There are no reports of any serious damage.

The biggest effect the week long drone attacks achieved was to shut down air traffic in Moscow for several hours.

After waiting a few days the Russian military responded in kind.

Over the last three days a record number of drones and missiles were launched against military installations and production facilities in Ukraine (archived):

Russia stepped up missile-and-drone assaults on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv and other regions, killing at least 12 people overnight into Sunday after President Trump last week declined to impose further sanctions on Moscow over its refusal to halt its invasion.

Russia attacked with a total of 367 drones and missiles—one of the largest single-night raids of the war, according to the Ukrainian Air Force—in a second consecutive day of pounding strikes that sent civilians running for shelters in the middle of the night.

Over three days the Russian forces used some 1,000 heavy drones plus 58 cruise- and 31 ballistic-missiles to attack Ukraine.

The Russian attacks are overwhelming (archived) the western provided air defenses:

What did Avdiivka cost us? Truly scary numbers have become known

The capture of Avdiivka and further advance on this section of the front is the largest victory of the Russian army over the past year.

The military command was in a hurry to drive the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of there before the March Presidential elections. It was expected that Vladimir Vladimirovich would even record a video with Avdiivka in the background (but later this idea was abandoned).

A secret report on the results of the battles for Avdiivka came into our hands. It is worth noting that the city, like a bone in the throat, prevented the alignment of the front, and the Ukrainian Armed Forces had the opportunity to shoot at Donetsk from there, including using cannon artillery.

From November 1, 2023 to March 1, 2024, in Avdiivka and on the approaches to it, our army lost:
➖ 14,453 dead
➖ 1,267 are listed as missing
➖ 42,312 were injured and/or amputated

[ Total casualties lost in the taking of Avdiivka: 58,032. A 3:1 ratio would give >19,000 dead. ]

The scale of losses in technology is also known. In the battles for Avdiivka our troops lost:
➖ 242 tanks
➖ 384 armored vehicles
➖ 312 artillery systems

Sergei Shoigu has these figures. He also reported to Vladimir Putin about the capture of the city, but then there was no definitive data. Obviously, Shoigu is in no hurry to report such colossal losses in technology.

The President previously took the loss of equipment in the Northern Military District very hard.

Why are we publishing this information? There are several questions regarding Avdiivka.

The main one is that another destroyed city will not bring anything to the budget in the coming years, and we have already spent huge amounts of money on its capture (and still have to invest in restoration).

Also, in the battles for the city, almost 60,000 military personnel were killed or injured.

••And these are only those who could be counted.••

Perhaps our command’s tactics need to be adjusted? We really hope that there will be people around Vladimir Vladimirovich who will talk about the real scale of the tragedy in Avdiivka.

NATO Defense Ministers met today. A huge surge in Defense spending is on the table.

Deutsche Welle (Germany) reports:

“NATO alliance defense ministers have broadly endorsed a plan to increase spending to 5% of GDP, as US President Donald Trump has demanded the alliances members invest more...Non-US GDP exceeding $25 Trillion in 2024, going from 2% devoted to defense to 5%, would be over a $750 Billion dollar per year increase, from outside of the USA, to an annual total of about $1.275 Trillion from NATO members other than the USA.

The USA had about a $29 Billion GDP in 2024, and already spends over 4% on Defense. Altogether, that would raise SUPER NATO’s annual Defense spending to around $2.7 Trillion!

Russia had about a $2 Trillion GDP last year, and about a $150 Billion Defense Budget - less than 5% of what SUPER NATO is considering committing to, later this month at The Hague Summit.

...US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth on Thursday said that NATO members were close to a deal on spending ahead of the Hague summit (June 24-25).

“This alliance, we believe, in a matter of weeks, will be committing to five percent — 3.5% in hard military and 1.5% in infrastructure and defense-related activities,” Hegseth said after meeting with NATO counterparts.”

“In about two weeks at this year’s NATO Summit, NATO is expected to approve a new level of Defense spending.”

Poland isn’t waiting. They just signed a $6B deal that includes another 180 K2 Black Panther tanks from South Korea for a total of 360, some to be made in Poland. Once Poland has manufacturing infrastructure, there will be many more.

Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment, June 10, 2025

Russian President Vladimir Putin appears to be switching between rhetoric focused on Russian ethnic nationalism and Russian multinationalism, but remains committed to promoting anti-Western sentiment and the militarization of Russia's youth. Putin held a meeting with the Security Council on June 10 that largely focused on the unification of the peoples of Russia and the use of military-patriotic youth programs and Russian government initiatives to promote Russian patriotism.[1] Putin highlighted the work of the “Movement of the First,” a Russian youth movement aimed at promoting military-patriotic education in Russia and occupied Ukraine, and “Yunarmiya” (”The Youth Army”), a movement that is responsible for instilling pro-war sentiments in Russian children and teenagers. Putin also highlighted the Russian state-mandated weekly lessons in schools that often include lectures by soldiers from the war in Ukraine. Putin platformed BRICS, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) — Russian-dominated organizations that Putin and other Kremlin officials have repeatedly postured as the foundation of Putin's envisioned anti-Western and anti-NATO Eurasian security architecture.[2] Putin stated that Russia must respond to challenges that promote interethnic and interreligious conflict in Russia and highlighted the “unity of the peoples of Russia.” Putin recently began forwarding an unofficial ideology formulated on Russian nationalism that positions Russia in opposition to the West, which marked a notable departure from Putin's usual rhetoric promoting the multiethnic and multireligious makeup of Russia's population.[3] Putin's remarks at the June 10 Security Council meeting appear to be a return to this rhetoric about the diversity of Russia and Russian civic nationalism. Putin appears committed, however, to promoting anti-Western and pro-war sentiments, especially in Russian youth, likely as part of efforts to prepare Russian society for a protracted war in Ukraine and possible future conflict with NATO. Putin's June 10 statements about harmony and unity in Russia indicate that he likely remains hesitant to fully commit to a nationalist ideology centered around ethnic Russians, as this risks fragmenting Russia's multiethnic population. ISW continues to assess that Putin must work to balance appeasing the influential xenophobic and ultranationalist community, which is a key constituency for Putin, with the need to leverage migrants to offset immediate economic and force generation challenges and long-term demographic decline.[4]

Russia is reportedly working to increase the number of North Korean labor migrants in Russia, likely to support Russia's workforce and to directly join the Russian military. Ukrainian Main Military Intelligence Directorate (GUR) Head Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov reported on June 7 that Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu agreed during his recent visit to North Korea to work to bring more North Korean migrants to work in Russia.[5] This reported agreement is a violation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolution 2397, to which Russia is a signatory and which prohibits North Korea from sending its citizens abroad for work and mandated that all UN member states expel all North Koreans “earning income” abroad by December 2019.[6] Russia vetoed in March 2024 an annual UNSC resolution extending a monitoring panel tracking adherence to UN sanctions against North Korea.[7] Budanov stated that Russia is likely looking to North Koreans to replace migrants from Central Asia. Budanov stated that many North Korean laborers in Russia will likely sign military contracts with the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD). ISW assessed in February 2025 that Russia was creating opportunities for North Korean migrants to go to Russia to join the Russian workforce or the Russian military.[8] Russia and North Korea have been overtly increasing their defense cooperation through mutual defense treaties, the transfer of military technology and materiel, and the deployment of North Korean forces to fight alongside Russian forces in Kursk Oblast.[9] Russia and North Korea appear to be trying to engage in more covert ways to create pathways through which North Koreans can enter Russia's military recruitment pipeline.

Кремлевская табакерка
The Kukushka project will start in August. At least 100 future mothers will be selected

The authorities have decided not to delay the selection of women for the Kukushka project, which is aimed at giving birth to “state” children. It is expected that the selection of the first 100 women will begin in August of this year. The selection criteria are currently being agreed upon at the final stage.

It is known in advance that these will be young Russian women from 18 to 26 years old (without family ties to foreigners). Orthodox. They say that one of the conditions will be the first blood group, so that the future offspring will have a common blood group, which is easier to replenish in the conditions of field hospitals and rehabilitation. And yes, although they will not officially announce this, the main goal will be the creation of healthy offspring that will be able to defend the future Russia.

The start of the project itself is expected at the end of this year - beginning of 2026. They are tentatively planning to create separate rooms in special boarding houses where conception will take place.

The question of who will act as fathers is also being discussed. At the first stage, a likely scenario is to involve veterans of the SVO, individual deputies and media personalities. The selection will be made by geneticists who have been given the goal of creating the strongest possible generation of Russians within the framework of the project. Children will be under the guardianship of the state from birth.

Remember Lebensborn
Lebensborn e.V. (literally: “Fount of Life”) was a secret, SS-initiated, state-registered association in Nazi Germany with the stated goal of increasing the number of children born who met the Nazi standards of “racially pure” and “healthy” Aryans, based on Nazi eugenics (also called “racial hygiene” by some eugenicists). Lebensborn was established by Heinrich Himmler, and provided welfare to its mostly unmarried mothers, encouraged anonymous births by unmarried women at their maternity homes, and mediated adoption of children by likewise “racially pure” and “healthy” parents, particularly SS members and their families.

I have often asked what does it mean to be called a nazi these days, and the answer is nothing. Just another word being thrown around like racist, bigot, sexist. Words designed to create an emotional response.

On the other hand we can look and see where behaviors and policies that the Nazis held are evident.

There is no country or leader that more emulates nazi germany and hitler, than Putin and Putin’s Russia.

Absolute control of society, media, and economy. Invading neighbors for Lebensraum, racial purity, required reverence and obedience to dear leader, and now pitin youth

“The Kukushka project will start in August.”

A very slow, costly and inefficient method of producing combat drones.

The likely real benefit, will be a means to provide young whores as a fringe benefit to regime loyalists. Otherwise, they could be artificially inseminated.

“ peace” for Russia will be very expensive. Everything they have taken has been destroyed. Looks like Russia can not maintain their own cities and infrastructure let alone rebuild what they have destroyed.

In many cases Russian cities have been required to supply resources to rebuild “sister” cities with no additional resources supplied by the state adding further financial and technical strains on these cities.

The Russian economy has devolved into a war economy sucking up every ruble and resource to feed the war, not feed the people.

Almost worse than the war continuing is the war ending for Russia.

It will be similar to after WW2, but with no Marshall plan.

Pitin will surely prioritize rebuilding military over rebuilding Russia, let alone his “new” territories.

“We can look and see where behaviors and policies that the Nazis held are evident.”

Dmitry Utkin, founder of the Wagner Group, had Nazi and SS insignia tattooed on his body, where they would be worn in uniform.

The name Wagner was chosen because of its Nazi association.

China will have a plan for them, but it won’t likely have such generous terms.

One aspect of Operation Spider Web, is that in a single night, Russia’s fleet of Strategic bombers fell from being the second biggest in the world (behind the USA) to the third biggest (behind China).

Will be interesting to see what is left of Russia and pitin after this is all over.

As
Much as pitin thinks of Russia as the Soviet Union and himself as Stalin reincarnated, it is not and he is not.
Technology has evolved and advanced, we are much better killers now, but the human race has not. Jealousy, greed, envy, hatred still rule, and pitin suffers from all of them.

Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely

“Will be interesting to see what is left of Russia and pitin after this is all over.”

All the major corporations in Russia are now operating at a loss, and borrowing at huge interest rates to keep doing it.

CEOs of publicly traded Western companies could be jailed for this.

But the CEOs of major Russian companies have been installed by Putin, owe their wealth to him, and their positions and lives depend on their unwavering loyalty to Putin - not their shareholders.

Most of the load of debt and deficit overloading the Russian economy has been forced on private sector companies and banks (in fascist fashion), rather than on the Federal Government (as bad as that is).

The financial overhang is growing at an accelerating rate.

Imagine borrowing at 20-30% interest rates, my home back in 1984 was 10%, but was only 62k, a lot back then, now it is worth over 300k.
