Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine (2 year anniversary)

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Name the pieces of paper that Russia signed agreeing to something which they have ever honored ...

What makes these ‘negotiators’ believe that this piece of paper will be the one Russia honors?

“You will see concessions from both sides.”
If these concessions go as things have been going for Ukraine, look for these sorts of concessions:

territorial concessions:
Ukraine will be forced to leave the Kursk region; Russia will be forced to take full control of the 5 oblasts it has incorporated into it’s Constitution.

economic concessions:
Ukraine will be forced to make reparations to the Russian infrastructure it has destroyed (on top of the mineral deal); Russia will be forced to rebuild the cities in the 5 oblasts it would control

several European officials will visit Kyiv for the third anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2025

They did so after a 3 day train ride, only to arrive as air raid sirens were sounding.

[ Russian Convoy Dismantled in Brutal Ambush! ]

Today [ Feb 23, 8 pm ], the biggest news comes from the Velyka Novosilka direction.

Here, with their offensive in Pokrovsk stalling, Russian forces needed a new way to project strength and maintain the theater-wide momentum, turning to Velyka Novosilka and launching massive assaults to shift attention away from their failing efforts in the north.

However, as wave after wave of armor and infantry pushed forward, it quickly became apparent that this diversion would come at a devastating cost.

The goal of the Russian forces in this area is to distract the public attention from the stagnating Pokrovsk offensive by intensifying their offensive efforts north of Velyka Novosilka.

This is because the Russians need to project strength on the geopolitical stage by keeping up the appearance of constant advances, while militarily, they cannot afford giving Ukrainians any more breathing room to recuperate from the year-long battles.

To achieve this, Russians conducted intense mechanized assaults to secure more of the Mokri Yaly River and eventually cross it. By securing these positions, Russians would have a staging ground to assault the dense Ukrainian network of fortifications north of the river.

As these positions greatly assist Ukrainians in striking Russian logistics at Velyka Novosilka, pushing the Ukrainians back would greatly help the Russians turn Velyka Novosilka into a forward base of operations for future advances.

The main advantage of the Russian forces in this area is that the frozen ground allowed Russian armor to advance across open fields and not be restricted to roads densely covered by Ukrainian landmines.

This enhanced freedom of movement meant that Russians could spread out and attack several Ukrainian strongholds simultaneously, overwhelming Ukrainian positions, which were already in a vulnerable position being spread out so far from the main line.

However, Russian forces still suffer from severe disadvantages; continued Ukrainian drone and artillery strikes on Velyka Novosilka effectively prevent Russians from using it to launch their attacks. This means that Russians must rely on hubs located much further away, such as Prechystivka or Vuhledar, which are located over 20 to 30 kilometers from the front.

This extended route also lacked significant cover, allowing Ukrainian drone reconnaissance units to detect the Russian assaults already on the approaches, communicating coordinates to the artillery in advance.

Additionally, if we look at the topographic map, we can see that Ukrainian positions on the western bank of the river would be able to effectively observe and target Russian assault groups with Javelin anti-tank-guided missiles.

Combat footage from the area reveals the movement of a column of 8 Russian armored vehicles, initially advancing along the road. The lead tank struck several remotely placed land mines, halting the column and exposing the vulnerable armored personnel carriers to kamikaze drone strikes.

As a result, the Russian vehicles prematurely dismounted their infantry, out of fear of being struck, leaving them to attack independently. without fire support.

The dismounted Russian infantry then made it across the frozen river, moving toward Ukrainian trenches, as they were promptly targeted by cluster munitions, eliminating most of them, before they reached the position, as FPV drones and small arms fire cleared out the rest.

The next Russian mechanized assault was also spotted in advance, heading to a Ukrainian position further to the north. As the armored vehicles quickly dismounted their infantry and pulled back to avoid destruction, the Russian infantry came under intense mortar and artillery fire, shredding through the unarmored group in the small tree line.

As the weather cleared up, the next Russian armored column was detected already, before they entered Velyka Novosilka. Approaching the Ukrainian fortifications, the lead tank was hit by a javelin from across the river, as the armored personnel carriers deployed their soldiers to the trenches, before retreating as fast as possible.

Overall, in their desperation to maintain their pace of advance after the slowdown at Pokrovsk, Russians suffered heavy vehicle losses to only make meager territorial gains. The loss of these positions is not significant, as Russians are now approaching the much stronger Ukrainian defensive line atop the hills behind the river.

With Ukrainians continuing to deny the Russians a swift advance north of Velyka Novosilka, Russians must find a new way to continue their momentum in the war.

Today, many of our partners are announcing new support packages for Ukraine. I’ve decided to collect them all together to highlight the strength of our allies and their continued commitment to the Ukrainian cause. Ukraine is very grateful to all our Allies and partners for firmly being on the side of the truth!

◼️The European Union announced its 16th package of sanctions against Russia, including shadow fleet ships, foreign companies that aid sanctions avoidance, oil & gas companies, and propagandist media. President of the European Commission von der Leyen also said that the next tranche of EU financial assistance of EUR 3.5 billion will be disbursed to Ukraine in March.

◼️Sweden will transfer air defense systems RBS70 and Tridon MK2 to Ukraine worth USD 113 million, as well as missiles for these systems (procured jointly with other nations).

◼️Finland announced a EUR 4.5 million contribution to the Partnership Fund for a Resilient Ukraine, which focuses on the recovery of social and public infrastructure of Ukraine, supports public service delivery, and European integration reforms.

◼️Canada will supply a major military aid package, including IFVs, F-16 training systems, and “millions” of ammo rounds, equipment for soldiers, and medicine kits. Trudeau said that the first tranche of aid to Ukraine financed by frozen Russian assets, valued at CAD 5 billion, will arrive soon. He also announced a grant to support Ukraine’s energy security.

◼️Australia adopted its biggest sanction package against Russia to date. It includes 70 individuals and 79 companies that support the occupation of Ukrainian territories, abet the kidnapping of Ukrainian children, and strengthen military cooperation between Russia and DPRK.

◼️The UK will provide GBP 4.5 billion of military aid - the biggest amount ever committed by the UK to Ukraine.

Extremely grateful to have the continued partnership of our allies, backed up by concrete commitments! 🇺🇦🇪🇺🇸🇪🇫🇮🇨🇦🇦🇺🇬🇧

Perhaps Ukraine will work a deal selling good drones to the US at a profit to cover low cost minerals. US could provide such drones to Taiwan.

Have I got this transaction right?

Ukraine sells the US "good drones" at a sufficient profit to "cover low-cost minerals" The US in turn "provides" the "good drones" to Taiwan?

How does this benefit US taxpayers who are $37 trillion dollars in debt and why would Trump enter into another business deal with Zelensky, who currently refuses to pay its debts to US?

⚡️11 soldiers of the 🇷🇺 Russian army were captured by 🇺🇦 paratroopers in the Kursk region.

The POWs were provided with medical and psychological assistance. In their units on the territory of the Russia, they were subjected to inhumane treatment, torture and executions for not fulfilling criminal orders.

These people chose life over death for the illusory fantasies of their dictator. They will be treated well as prisoners of war, will be safe and likely awaiting exchange. We call on all members of the Russian army to surrender

Another potential ecological disaster in the Black Sea.

The research vessel Ashamba of the Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, carrying 200 liters of fuel, sank at the pier in Novorossiysk.

According to initial reports, the vessel lost stability due to icing.

There is a significant risk of further pollution of the Black Sea with petroleum products.

🇮🇪 The Government of Ireland is to donate a substantial portion of Ireland’s ageing air defence systems to protect towns and small cities in Ukraine.

Giraffe Mark IV radar systems will be transferred to the Ukrainian armed forces

Ireland possesses seven of the Giraffe systems. It has not yet been determined if all are to be donated. Sources said at least three are to be handed over.

According to Greek media, Trump has decided to dismantle the base in the Greek city of Alexandroupolis, which is currently used to supply Western weapons to Ukraine.

Turkey supports the initiative of the American leader and Ankara believes that the use of the port of Alexandroupolis by the US armed forces should cease, as the conflict in Ukraine is "coming to an end."
