Some guy did a great video on that very subject a few months ago.

Bottom line … the audio/video, TV and other technology that existed at the time was so primitive that it would have been harder to stage a fake lunar landing than to plan and execute the real one.

Thus the old joke: Spielberg was so dedicated to authenticity in his craft that he insisted his "Moon Landing" film had to be shot on location ...
