Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

It’s happening.

Who did it?

Trump, Putin, or both?

Reuters reported:

(NATO’s) “European states would invest a combined total of $380 billion in defence this year, taking their spending as a whole to an estimated 2% of GDP in 2024 compared to 1.85% in 2023, Stoltenberg said.”

OilPrice.com reports:

“Russia’s Novatek restarted earlier this week fuel processing at its complex on the Baltic Sea damaged last month in a suspected Ukrainian drone attack, industry sources told Reuters on Wednesday.

Novatek’s export terminal and processing site at Russia’s Ust-Luga port on the Baltic Sea was damaged in January by what Ukraine said was a drone attack on Russian energy infrastructure.”

They don’t say how much of the capacity is back on line.

There is a lot of talk that Trump would be bad for Ukraine, and its war effort. However it was Trump who challenged NATO members to spend what they are required to, it was Trump who sent weapons to Ukraine, and it was Trump who warned Europe about becoming dependent on Russia for hydrocarbons

Assuming “ending war in 24 hours “ means xiden like Afghanistan withdrawal may leave you very disappointed

Since the Moscovians pose absolutely no threat in space, there is no reason to give military assistance to a country killing actual Moscovians who are invading their country. Makes sense, right?

“There is a lot of talk that Trump would be bad for Ukraine, and its war effort”

The media promoted that narrative about (politically more Conservative) Georgia Meloni in Italy, during her election campaign as well. When she took office, she significantly increased Italian Military aid to Ukraine.

[ Ukrainians Send The Biggest Russian Ship to The Bottom of The Sea ]

==

Day 721: Feb 14

Today, there is a lot of news.

First of all, the Ukrainian Special Forces conducted a successful operation, where they engaged and neutralized the large Russian landing ship “Caesar Kunikov” south of Crimea.

This vessel, part of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, represented one of the newest and best additions to the Russian naval capabilities. Russian sources reported that Ukrainians utilized seven unmanned surface vessels to target the ship at night, more precisely, the fifth generation of Magura drones.

Russian analysts note adaptations of the Ukrainian so-called “Wolfpack” tactics, which are especially successful against stationary targets at sea. This tactic implies a coordinated attack, where each drone plays a crucial role in the success of the operation, be that a role of reconnaissance, decoy, or striker.

Based on the combat footage released by the Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate, four drones inflicted critical damage to the port side of “Caesar Kunikov,” leading to its sinking. Preliminary reports indicate a significant loss of life among the Russian vessel’s crew.

Search and rescue operations conducted by Russian forces were reportedly too late and unsuccessful.

The analysts noted that Russian commanders made a fatal mistake by stopping in the middle of the sea. Based on the footage, the drones were approaching the ship relatively slowly, which means that they were much quieter and harder to detect.

Getting so close while being undetected would be impossible if the ship was moving because the drones would have needed to move faster to catch up.

However, the marine drone strike actually happened only after the aerial drone strike. Russian sources reported that before sinking the ship, Ukrainians launched several waves of aerial drones.

Russian analysts note that the area of operation of Ukrainian aerial drones increased significantly because now Ukrainians are attacking Crimea, not only from the west, but also from the north and east.

This implies that the January strike campaign degraded the Russian air defense capabilities considerably. Russian sources even reported that Russians had to engage their fighter jets to intercept two out of three waves of drone attacks.

The fact that Russians were engaging additional resources for aerial drone interception indicates that they were once again overly focused on the problems in the sky, failing to prepare for the main attack on their ship from the sea.

At the same time, Russian sources confirmed the death of the commander of the Russian 77th Marine Brigade, who died in the hospital in Crimea. Some sources indicate that he was wounded during the previous strike on the Russian headquarters in Crimea, while others say that he was wounded in the Kherson region.

Recently, Russian forces also conducted a series of strikes.

Their 1st target became a thermal power station in Dnipro, resulting in the suspension of electricity production. The attack, executed under the cover of night, inflicted substantial damage on critical and large-scale equipment without causing injuries.

The 2nd target became the village Selydove, which is located around forty kilometers away from Avdiivka. Russian sources reported that Russian forces hit a large deployment point using Iskander missiles with cluster munitions and killed up to 600 troops.

Some sources claimed that Russians hit the newly arrived detachments from the 3rd Assault Brigade that were supposed to reinforce Avdiivka. Shortly after that, Ukrainian fighters from the 3rd Assault Brigade released combat footage confirming that they were already in Avdiivka, not Selydove.

Then Russian sources started claiming that they destroyed wounded troops that withdrew from Avdiivka. Later, local residents published photos of their destroyed houses, indicating that Russians did not hit the shooting range with Ukrainian soldiers.

The 3rd target became a temporary Ukrainian equipment park in Tsukurino. The footage confirms that Russians managed to damage and destroy multiple vehicles with cluster munitions.

By the way, this settlement is located just two kilometers away from Selydove, and both strikes happened simultaneously.

Judging by the fact that the footage from this strike was promptly released, while the footage from Selydove was withheld again, it indicates that Russians did not hit a base with Ukrainians.

Most prominent Russian sources admitted that due to the absence of any evidence, the location or information about the killed reinforcements to Avdiivka cannot be confirmed.

Ukrainian commander of forces in Avdiivka stated that Russians launched an information operation as a distraction from the heavy losses that Russians are incurring in Avdiivka, which recently reached approximately 645 Russian soldiers per day.

When it comes to Avdiivka itself, the situation is extremely difficult. Ukrainian fighters reported that Russian forces conducted up to 60 glide bomb strikes on Ukrainian positions just over the past day, just inside the town.

Ukrainian fighters noted that due to the dynamic nature of fighting, some of these bombs fall on Russian soldiers, but the Russian commanders do not care.

In combination with airstrikes, Russian forces are actively pouring in their reserves to overwhelm Ukrainian forces and maintain the momentum. This allowed Russians to cross the rails and establish physical control over the main supply road.

However, this morning, a portion of Ukrainian reserves was deployed to this region and started conducting counterattacks. According to the latest available combat footage, Ukrainian fighters from the 3rd Assault Brigade used Bradleys to attack Russian forces and pushed them away from the road by more than 150 meters.

Ukrainian commander of the famous 110th Brigade that has been fighting in Avdiivka non-stop for two years stated that they felt a tangible relief once the help from the 3rd Brigade arrived.

Even though Russian sources are already celebrating the encirclement of the town, a Ukrainian fighter from the 24th Battalion said not to take everything at face value, as the situation is very dynamic with a lot of back-and-forth.

He also added that Ukrainian low-level commanders are neither stupid nor spineless and would not allow the high command to just leave them to be encircled. The fact that Ukrainian soldiers actively defend the decision of Higher Command, even more than during the Battle for Bakhmut, indicates that there is a plan that they do not hurry to reveal.

It seems like Ukrainians are waiting until Russians exhaust their reserves to make a move, and with an average of 645 killed Russian troops per day just in Avdiivka, they may not need to wait for long.

Avdiivka is no doubt the hottest part of the front line. However, Russian forces are conducting not one but five simultaneous offensive operations at the moment.

Tragedy in Belgorod. Soldiers and civilians died

In Belgorod, as a result of an enemy strike, according to preliminary information, 5 civilians and 9 military personnel were killed.

According to our sources in the General Staff and the government of the Belgorod region, some people died from the debris. The Ministry of Defense reported the destruction of 14 rockets, we confirm this information:

Russian Ministry of Defense
https://t.me/mod_russia/35664

Around 12.30, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack on targets on the territory of the Russian Federation using the RM-70 Vampire multiple launch rocket system was stopped.

Fourteen missiles were destroyed by air defense systems on duty over the territory of the Belgorod region.

Most of the shells were shot down over Belgorod, the debris fell, including on a shopping center and others civilian objects). Unfortunately, several shells were not shot down, which led to destruction and casualties.

“Among other things, the shells hit a secret military facility. I won’t say what happened there, but we had 9 dead and 12 wounded servicemen there. All are experienced, one might even say elite fighters,” said one of our interlocutors.

According to him, the object was “very well hidden”, therefore, most likely, someone aimed an enemy attack at it.

Happy memory to all those who died.

UPD. Unfortunately, the number of civilian deaths has risen to 7. Among the military, three wounded are in serious condition; doctors are fighting for their lives.

Up to 10 thousand “black janitors” from Africa are being trained to participate in the SVO

In recent days, there has been a lot of discussion about the arrival in Russia of 10 thousand workers from Kenya, who have already begun to appear in Moscow. As it turns out, this news has a direct bearing on the SVO.

According to our interlocutors from among Yevgeny Prigozhin’s close associates, former “Wagnerites” (who left the PMC and signed contracts with the Ministry of Defense) opened two special training camps - in Kenya and Mali.

There they recruit locals and prepare them to participate in the Northern Military District in order to “strengthen our army in several difficult sectors of the front.”

One group of such fighters (about 500 people, by the way, among them there are both men and women) has already arrived in Russia under the guise of workers.

For cover, they took staged photos in janitor uniforms and will soon be sent to the front - most likely to the Avdeevka area and the Zaporozhye region. Several more groups are on the way; in total, it is planned to train approximately 10 thousand African fighters.

Some Africans were well trained and offered contracts - they will be paid from 300,000 to 500,000 rubles per month (they will be paid, of course, in dollars).

At the same time, not all new fighters are well prepared, but “there are enough of them to go on assaults,” our interlocutors say. In general, new fighters will be paid different amounts depending on their skills and abilities.

“To be honest, a lot of people laugh at these fighters. They have even been given a nickname - “black wipers”. Oh, if Evgeny Viktorovich could see this,” said one of the sources.

By the way, our interlocutors at the Ministry of Defense confirmed to us the training of African fighters for the Northern Military District. But they refused to provide any details.

“Black wipers” from Africa opened fire on their own at the front. More than 20 of our military personnel died.

Back in January, we wrote that they plan to train up to 10 thousand fighters who are recruited in Africa to participate in the North Military District. The formation of African military detachments is in full swing, but they have already begun to be actively transferred to the front.

From the very beginning, the nickname “black wipers” stuck to such fighters (we wrote about why here). And now many of our military continue to call them that.

African volunteers who fight under contract were in the North Military District zone before this. But now, due to large losses at the front, their active transfer has begun here, primarily to the Avdeevka area and to other hot areas of the front in the DPR.

“We have already trained more than eight thousand people from five African countries. Now their transfer to the front has begun. About one and a half thousand African fighters have already left or will soon go to Avdeevka, Marinka and Donetsk,” a source in the Ministry of Defense told us.

Officers and ordinary soldiers who are fighting in the Northern Military District zone are dissatisfied with the arrival of new African colleagues and complain about them.

Firstly, they fight poorly, but they willingly surrender. And they help the enemy - they surrender positions to him and pose for propaganda materials.

Secondly, Russian soldiers are dying because of them.

According to the officers who took part in the assault on Avdeevka, over the past week “black janitors” fired at their own at least twice on this section of the front.

“Once they confused our scouts with the enemies and shot them with a machine gun. Another time they went for an assault, a shell fell near them, they got scared and ran. They shot the guys who prevented them from retreating and tried to stop them,” one of the military men told us.

According to another, as a result of these emergency situations, 24 of our soldiers were killed and about 20 more were wounded. Among the Africans who received friendly fire in return, at least 18 were killed.

The Ministry of Defense and the General Staff say they are aware of the problem and are “doing everything possible to improve the morale and combat readiness of our new African troops.”

Viktor Sokolov, dismissed from his post as commander of the Black Sea Fleet, faces prison

Several sources in the Kremlin and the Ministry of Defense told us about this.

“I confirm Sokolov’s resignation. Moreover, the loss of the ship “Caesar Kunikov” was only the last straw. We are doing poorly at sea, and this is Sokolov’s direct responsibility. I believe that he will still receive a well-deserved punishment,” noted one of our interlocutors.

According to another, the issue of initiating a criminal case against Sokolov under a number of articles and due to the fact that his activities led to “a serious decline in the combat effectiveness of our army” is now being considered.

If the case is initiated, the admiral faces up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property. At the moment, only influential friends in the corridors of power are protecting the former Black Sea Fleet commander from criminal prosecution.

It is interesting that Sokolov himself considers his dismissal a mistake and hopes to return to his post.

The possible criminal prosecution of Sokolov made Sergei Shoigu happy. “A precedent may be created that we can use in relation to other commanders who failed to cope with combat missions. And at the same time terribly impudent. This is right and fair,” said our source in the Ministry of Defense.

In his opinion, a number of military leaders may be punished following Sokolov. In particular, General Mikhail Teplinsky, who (according to our interlocutor) “fails all combat missions in the Kherson region.” And in relation to which, we know, Shoigu has long-standing grievances.

Let us note that Shoigu still cannot show the president the “military coup plan” that Teplinsky allegedly prepared (we wrote about this in detail here: https://t.me/kremlin_secrets/3586 ).

There is a lot of talk that Trump would be bad for Ukraine, and its war effort.

Much of that talk comes from Trump himself. He should adjust his messaging a bit, and say that while he wants to make peace at the bargaining table, if Moscow isn't willing to compromise as much as Kyiv, he will give Ukraine everything it needs. His current messaging makes him look weak, and bending the knee to Putin.

The people of Ukraine do not want to compromise because they know that Moscovia will just rest, rearm and attack again. Further, Ukraine government officials like Yemak and Zelinski would be killed, if they tried to compromise. No one in Ukraine wants Holodomor II.
