“Liberals admit they want to get rid of the lumber industry in Oregon”

...and to think, we literally have people here trying to convince us that RUSSIA is our biggest threat.

What good are trees if they aren’t going to be used to build stuff?

All industry, all farming, everything productive in the economy.

It is total war against humanity.

...and they admitted the entire song and dance of protecting the forests and species was a fraud and the only thing they want to accomplish is to kill the lumber industry.

Again they said as much back in the 80s & 90S in meetings in Washington State.

I think that they should all be tied to trees in the path of the next major forest fire so that they can experience first hand the outcomes of their very bad ideas.

Gov alone owns 627 million acres, which is nearly 1/4 of the total land (2.27 billion acres) in the US. I’m not sure if state government’s land/parks/wilderness areas are included in thst or not?

The left scream about how we are “running out of land to inhabit” and how the earth is supposedly overpopulated, yet there are billions of acres of land that could be inhabited except for the fact that gov forbids it.

I’m guessing the lumber industry would like to get rid of all liberals.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Ephesians 6:12-13 (King James Version)

Amen. We are bombarded with evil from every angle, even those we long to trust, at times. But do not compromise yourself, any more than God would. Have faith that He and His principles will not lead you astray, but will instead give you the protection you need. Change what you can. Limit your exposure to what you can not.

Would be much better if the sane part of Oregon kicked out the insane leftist part. Same with Washington state and California.

The defenders of forestry are failing to see and wield the weapons available to them, chief of which is the ESA as "authorized" by treaty, principally The Convention on Nature Protection and Wild Life Preservation in the Western Hemisphere. The key language goes as follows: “The Governments of the American Republics, wishing to protect and preserve in their natural habitat representatives of all species and genera of their native flora and fauna, including migratory birds, in sufficient numbers and over areas extensive enough to assure them from becoming extinct through any agency within man’s control;” Managing forests is within man's control. If we don't do it, the process of "preservation" will eventually induce mass extinctions.

The argument goes like this: Uninterrupted vegetative succession suppresses the expression of native annual plants, and therefore the specific insect life that depends upon those species. Wait long enough without disturbance, and that seed bank dies. Allow a soil sterilizing fire and that seed bank dies.

The lack of a timber industry means there is no funding for control of invasive exotic species after a fire or timber harvest. An atmosphere enriched with carbon dioxide has pushed the accrual of fuel beyond its natural limits. That fuel must be removed, or the result will be mass extinctions.

There is gobs of "expert opinion" pointing out the pre-colonial history of aboriginal forest management by fire. That process sustained those post-disturbance annual plants, bugs, and fungi. In fact, given that the anthropogenic practice continued for 10,000 years, the entire composition of species was selected for that process of regular anthropogenic periodic disturbance. They cannot continue without it.

Wield the ESA against these thugs. They'll never let it go; they think it's theirs. Drive it down their throats.

I first proposed that "Strategy of the Commoners" in Natural Process, my first book published in 2001. Why it has never been deployed mystifies me.

BTW, you can read a similar argument about mass extinctions due to "preservation" here.

Wildergarten is our native plant restoration project of some 34 years, considered by many to be the finest in the world.

What better way to sequester CO2 than to turn trees into lumber and grow new trees?
