Texas Border Showdown: Truckers Roll In, Constitutional Clash Heats Up, and Accusations of Biden’s Negligence Fly...
Citizen Watch Report ^

The Lone Star State is in the midst of a fierce battle with the federal government over the escalating migrant invasion at the southern border. This is not just another political skirmish; it’s a clash with monumental implications. Governor Greg Abbott and President Joe Biden are at the forefront of a dispute that transcends sovereignty, delving deep into the constitutional debate over states’ rights and the ever-pressing question of judicial supremacy.

As tensions escalate, a convoy of trucks, cars, and recreational vehicles is en route to the border for a series of rallies spanning from California to Eagle Pass, Texas. Organized by Take Our Border Back, these peaceful protests aim to send a resounding message to lawmakers that Americans are fed up with the illegal alien invasion. Noel Roberts of the organization emphasizes the importance of peaceful and lawful demonstrations, working in coordination with local law enforcement to voice concerns within the bounds of the First Amendment.

“ The new population figures, derived from the bureau's American Community Survey, showed Hispanic Texans made up 40.2% of the state's population in 2021 while non-Hispanic white Texans made up 39.4%. The estimates - based on comprehensive data collected over the 2021 calendar year - are not considered official.”

So what? Border protection is not racial politics.

I am a Texan and I live in a city that's pretty much 50-50 Mexican/Caucasian. A good portion of my Friends are Mexican - some 1st generation in the USA.. Their opinions are the same as mine regarding border security.

BTW, it's not only Mexicans that are crossing. So get informed before spewing racial propaganda.

Ask her if she knew the Mexican Army drove across the Donna, TX international bridge in 2011 and obama did zip, zero, nada. Yeah, it was a lark but it was also a show of aggression and to prove the US wouldn’t do a thing. Imagine Xi, Putin and Kim’s response if the US Army drove across well marked borders.

A few years ago, Texas McDonalds decided to post the menu in Spanish. That didn’t last long.

Keep your head in the sand, lady. Hispanics vote for democrats, period. You may want your nation flooded by third worlders, I don’t. You’re part of the problem.

None that I know do. I’m not going to get engaged in conversation with someone who is obviously uninformed.

——

https://daily.jstor.org/where-did-the-term-hispanic-come-from/

September 15 marks the start of National Hispanic Heritage Month. As an umbrella demographic category, the term “Hispanic” is contested today, as some communities prefer “Latino,” “Latinx,” or “Latine.” But as sociologist G. Cristina Mora explains, “Hispanic” is a relatively recent invention, and a political one.

Back in the 1970s, Mora writes, U.S. Spanish speakers were mostly Mexican-American, Puerto Rican, or Cuban-American. And they didn’t necessarily see themselves as having much in common. Cuban-Americans were mostly relatively well-off professionals, concentrated in Florida, who viewed themselves as racially white. Puerto Ricans living on the mainland were clustered largely in the urban Northeast. Mexican-Americans—or Chicanos, as the more radical among them called themselves—lived largely in the Southwest and often understood themselves as an economically exploited minority group. Speaking with members of these groups at the time, one former census official recalled, “People didn’t even know what Hispanic meant!”

All of that wire has to be paid for, the troops paid and then it all has to be taken up sometime. A comprehensive barrier similar to the ones that exist at many borders around the globe should have been constructed many years ago. Double security fence, motion sensors, watch towers, cameras and patrol roads with each attempted incursion met with deadly force. Didn’t happen and now we have this fluster cluck of bush hogged trails strung with makeshift layers of concertina and a brewing fed vs. state conflict that just serves to further unsettle a nation already ripping apart. All over a half measure on a section of border too short to matter. This will probably pass, we have the attention span and conviction of a bunch of gerbils.

I had a similar experience with in laws last summer when I mentioned the farmers protesting in the Netherlands and why they were protesting. Dazed looks, had no idea.

Nope. Nothing about that Federal Government was tyrannical. The South had control of the Federal Government then the slave power threw a hissy fit when they lost it. They didn't fight the Federal Government, the tore the Federal Government apparently. Texas is standing by the Constitution and for the Union, the nwo occupation Government violates both

You haven’t read about the economic abuses of the South by the Union government?
