Update on the conflict in Ukraine for January 7, 2024...
- Russia continues conducting large-scale missile and drone strikes across Ukraine;
- Ukrainian forces are depleted after a defeated summer-fall offensive with the West unable to adequately replace their losses;
- The West is also unable to bolster Ukrainian air defense capabilities which are buckling under intense Russian strikes;
- In response, Ukraine seeks to focus on optics-centric strikes on Belgorod as well as conduct other symbolic retaliation strikes deep inside Russia;
- Western representatives have begun more vocally calling for the transfer of longer-range missiles and drones to Ukraine;
- Despite the ability of these weapons to strike deep within Russia, they do not and will not in the foreseeable future exist in large enough numbers to match let alone exceed Russian missile production;

My guess is that transition training, air-to-air training, and basic gunnery would be conducted at Luke AFB, AZ or Davis Monthan AFB, AZ.
Tactics training would then be conducted at Nellis AFB, NV.
The Nellis ranges are the best in the world.
The Ukranians will probably fly against F-35s flown by the 65th Aggressor Squadron.

In the Rostov region, air defense killed paratroopers during an exercise
A terrible tragedy occurred during a night training exercise of paratroopers at the Kuzminsky military training ground in the Rostov region. Sources said that two servicemen died during the landing, and this happened by a completely stupid accident.
It happened like this: the planned daytime jumps were postponed due to bad weather conditions, and for some reason they were postponed for the night. The company commanders were against it, but orders from the command were not discussed. If we have to jump, then we will jump.
The plane with troops on board arrived at the specified coordinates and began unloading troops not far from the Kuzminka training ground. When the military began to approach the ground, fire was opened on them.
Due to an absurd mistake, one of the operators of the legendary “Slingshot” (ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft gun, which is used to destroy air targets at low altitudes) mistook the exercise for a real landing. Fortunately, most of the shots missed, but two soldiers received injuries incompatible with life.
An investigation into this fact has already begun. They say that before the emergency, the shooting operator had been on duty for at least 14 hours. This is a violation of all possible norms.
The situation is aggravated by the fact that the shooter recently returned from the SVO zone, where he was awarded for effective work. The dead did not have time to take part in the hostilities.
