I’ve been thinking that perhaps the best *investment* is durable goods.
If there’s anything you need to fix, buy, maintain, or replace, now would be a good time to do it.
We saw what happened to the supply chain during Covid.
God knows what’s going to happen this election cycle. And if the supply chain is affected, all the money in the world can’t buy what doesn’t exist.
We’ve pretty much done that since Covid-BS19. We have a new truck and the two other vehicles are in good mechanical order, newer tires and batteries, etc. When Beau needs a replacement part, he usually gets two of the same for future use. ;)
We could use a better generator, though. We are at the ‘end of the line’ when it comes to electricity, so repairs to that take a number of hours, minimum. And that’s just a squirrel committing suicide, not even a major storm or blackout. ;)
But, you can’t beat rural living; with all the modern amenities, of course! :)
