Self-defense and citizen patrols are NOT vigilante.

It really bothers me that when people take care of themselves instead of depending on the government and law enforcement, it’s branded as *vigilante* with it’s full on negative connotation of being lawless and ruthless.

The Second Amendment allows for militias, which likewise have been smeared by the left as lawless.

Armed citizen patrols are the ONLY option for safety when the duly elected government does not do its job. It’s a far cry from forming a retaliation group with the legal and justice system works as it should.

When they abdicate, then people are forced into a position of self-defense, which is NOT vigilantism.

If nothing is done, we become a drug cartel, gang controlled hell hole like Mexico or Haiti.

Correct. Only the Progs insist just "government" is responsible for our defense. But "We The People" are the government. If those we hire/elect won't or can't do it somebody must step in to stop the inevitable chaos, gangsterism, and anarchy.

That doesn't mean lynch mobs. The "Committees of Vigilance" of yesteryear not only rounded up miscreants but gave them fair trials using whatever official courts or procedures were mostly already in place.
