Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Is “Russia’s friend and partner” helping Ukraine bomb Crimea? The military told what will happen next

A few days ago we wrote: Erdogan (whom many of us still consider “Russia’s friend and partner”) again demanded that Crimea be transferred to Turkey’s control.

Otherwise, he threatened that the attacks on the peninsula will continue, and “there will be no living place left there.” And he hinted that he would help guide Ukrainian missiles and drones to Crimea.

The strike, as a result of which we lost the Novocherkassk landing ship, is confirmation that Turkey has begun to implement its threats, many of our military interlocutors believe.

“The enemy missiles were aimed at Feodosia very professionally. So they bypassed our air defense and hit the most vulnerable places. This definitely could not have happened without outside help,” our source at the Black Sea Fleet said about this.

Whether it was Turkey who could have corrected the strike, he does not yet know for sure, but he says that it is very similar. It seems our interlocutor did not reveal why, citing the confidentiality of the information.

And the General Staff gave a forecast about what could happen next to Crimea.

“I could lie and say everything will be fine. But I won’t. The enemy will strike. The enemy has learned to penetrate our air defense; apparently, he has a lot of missiles, plus NATO is helping.

“In this situation, I believe it is necessary to strengthen the air defense of Crimea. To be honest, I would take some of the systems from Moscow - they are already well protected there,” an interlocutor among the generals told us.

Another expressed dissatisfaction with the fact that “all these military officers of ours shout a lot that they abandoned Ukraine, they don’t give it weapons, and Western missiles are constantly flying towards us.”

“This is war. You need to treat your opponent adequately. It is necessary to tell the truth to the residents of Crimea so that they can protect themselves during enemy attacks. The military must be kept in constant combat readiness. Only in this case will we win,” the source is confident.

TANK KILLER: OSINT (Uri) @UKikaski posts this video of a Ukrainian FPV drone delivering an RPG warhead into the frontal armor of a Russian T-90 tank. Though equipped with Explosive Reactive Armor, this one hit was sufficient to force the crew to bail out.

https://twitter.com/ChuckPfarrer/status/1739705046177042868

So, the reactive armor stops the drone but damages the tank sufficient to cause the crew to abandon the tank.

Or the reactive armor simply doesn't work.

Amazing!

Excellent information...thanks for posting.

“The enemy missiles were aimed at Feodosia very professionally. So they bypassed our air defense and hit the most vulnerable places. This definitely could not have happened without outside help...”

The only target intel needed is GPS coordinates and confirmation that the ship was docked.

The source could be partisans, satellite photos, long range drones, ELINT, or SIGINT.

Regardless of the source, this is a huge win for UKR target intel.

“According to some of the FRuzzians, this is no big deal...the war is a land war.”

Maybe this is a new phase, where Ukraine has achieved a degree of Operational surprise.

Reportedly, Ukraine had prepared a Winter campaign of drone strikes and sabotage.

That might still be coming, but this last week looks like something different. Maybe it is just a Christmas surge, to encourage continued Military support, or maybe it is just the result of the Military support that Ukraine has already received (PATRIOT and Storm Shadow/SCALP).

But Wow, Russian aircraft losses have suddenly become dramatic, as was the size of the blast of that landing ship. Wow again.

Maybe another Ukrainian Winter Campaign was prepared, in the air and on the sea, to achieve initiative while ground operations were slow, due to weather and mines.

A few more weeks like this would be an epic rout of the Russian Aerospace Force. Perhaps this is the arrival of the F-16s, or deliberate preparation for their arrival.

One more landing ship, and it will mark the loss of half of the Black Sea Fleet’s 2021 total of landing ships. Those are important for amphibious operations (like potentially attacking Odesa in the future), but also as an alternate supply method, if/when the Kerch Bridge goes for a swim.

Two buckets of carrots and a bag of onions instead of 3 million rubles and joint replacement.

The authorities of the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation compensated the injuries of the mobilized Orc with vegetables.

The source could be partisans, satellite photos, long range drones, ELINT, or SIGINT.

I'm guessing all or most of the above. Ukraine has full access to ICEYE synthetic aperture radar satellite imagery, and probably a variety of western intel products. I suspect since the ship had just arrived at Feodosia, they had some kind of intel source feeding them ships movement info. Ukraine's Stormshadow mission planning appears to be top notch. I wonder if the Brits are still helping, or has Ukraine mastered this area? Mission planning is a huge factor in cruise missile effectiveness.

Thanks for the numbers!

Seems to me that using ships instead of trains for munitions would indicate that ruzzian logistics are in deep trouble.

The Novocherkassk take down has to be devastating.

Novocherkassk: 4,400 artillery shells, 280 Grad rockets, 62 crew members destroyed.

This seems much more likely than the original claims the ship was carrying Iranian drones.

“The 25mm Bushmaster cannon of the M2 Bradley is tearing Russian troops apart”

A .50 cal (13mm) sniper rifle will tear people apart - blow off an arm or a head, send a body spinning ten or fifteen feet in the air.

Those Bushmasters will tear light armored vehicles apart - in sudden and dramatic fashion.

“The large landing ship Novocherkassk, is unlikely to be restored.”

Understatement of the day.

Absolutely.

To avoid the ruzzian S-400s, the launch aircraft would have to fly at low altitude for the entire mission.

The missile launch probably occurred over the Black Sea about 300 km southwest of Odessa.

The S-400s never saw the StormShadows.

They never expected an attack from the south.

I wonder if the Brits are still helping, or has Ukraine mastered this area?

My vote is Ukraine has mastered this area. They learned from the best.

Excellent analysis...thanks.

...or maybe it is just the result of the Military support that Ukraine has already received (PATRIOT and Storm Shadow/SCALP).

I believe it is the result of the arrival of the third Patriot battery. This battery has been strategically placed near the front.

I also believe that Ukraine has received a follow-on tranche of Storm Shadow/SCALP missiles.

Maybe another Ukrainian Winter Campaign was prepared, in the air and on the sea, to achieve initiative while ground operations were slow, due to weather and mines.

"To achieve initiative" an excellent choice of words...I agree completely.

Perhaps this is the arrival of the F-16s, or deliberate preparation for their arrival.

Could be, but I doubt it.

My hope is that GLSDBs are soon to arrive.

Scattered throughout Feodosia are not only pieces of iron from the exploding Novocherkassk, but also pieces and scraps of bodies. Protruding bones, remains of skulls, shreds of meat.

Sat Images.

“A rescue tug Captain Guryev was also damaged. appears to be partially sunk.”

Yep, second boat appears to be sunk.

“The first satellite images obtained by Svoboda of the port of Feodosia after the Ukrainian missile attack appeared.

In addition to the destroyed landing ship Novocherkask, another ship partially sank, high likely as a result of the attack. The type is still to be determined.”

I’m not sure you recognized that as humor about the “damaged” and 1 dead claim when we could all see the explosion video.
