Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When a vehicle is captured and then lost in service with its new owners, it is only added as a loss of the original operator to avoid double listings. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it's not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Update for Boxing Day...12/26/2023

The destruction of the Ropucha Class landing ship Novocherkassk in Russian-occupied Feodosia proves once again that the Ukrainian forces are more than capable to execute complex operations using Western technology.

It is likely that one or more Ukrainian Su-24M fired Stormshadow /SCALP-EG missiles. The massive secondary explosions directly implies that the Russian ship was filled with ammunition and explosives to the brim.

Repeated cases of similar events show that the Russian army lacks the capabilities, profession and, honestly, military wits to counter a fully geared up Ukrainian army. It explains why Russians are so hellbent to stop all Western supplies because they are desperate. They simply cannot stop what's coming, as those instances prove.

A big win for UKR target intelligence.

IMHO, the only rationale for docking the ship in Feodosia is to offload important cargo.

The dock is certainly destroyed, along with the unloading personnel.

Awaiting satellite images.

marcusmaximus...thanks for posting.

The 25mm Bushmaster cannon of the M2 Bradley is tearing Russian troops apart, and I mean literally. The effects of a round hitting a Russian soldier are devastating. There are plenty of pics showing this.

In the video, the rounds appear to be HE without tracers.

Pieces of Novocherkassk are scattered all over Russian-occupied Feodosia.

Video at the link above shows a TV reporter standing beside a large piece of metal in front of a store.

This is the clearest video so far of the Ukrainian missile strike against the Russian Ropucha-class landing ship in Crimea.

According to some reports, 87 Russians were killed in the huge explosion.

Aside from the Novocherkassk shooting into pieces, Ukrainian forces shot down 13 Shahed-136/131 drones.

https://twitter.com/Tendar/status/1739520557320647035

Several X threads indicate there were some Shahed-136/131 drones on the Novocherkassk.

The scorecard certainly contains an under-count.

The Black Sea Fleet lost the Novocherkassk landing ship

Another unpleasant news came from Crimea. Last night, enemy aircraft attacked the port of Feodosia. Unfortunately, came under attack the large landing ship Novocherkassk. The detonation of the ammunition that was on board could be seen for kilometers.

We managed to find out the details of the night attack of Feodosia.

Firstly, the attack on the BDK was carried out by Ukrainian aircraft using long-range missiles of the Storm Shadow type.

According to our information, at least 3 Su-24 fighters were involved in the attack. Moreover, one of them distracted the air defense while approaching Crimea from Odessa through the Black Sea.

The other two fired missiles from the Kherson direction. The interlocutors suggested that the enemy Su-shki flew over the front line or came very close to it.

This opportunity arose after the Russian troops lost several Su-34 fighters at once.

We told you that after this tragedy, some pilots refuse to carry out combat missions. On the front sector near the bridgehead on the left bank of the Dnieper, the Ukrainian Armed Forces use a modern Western-style air defense system (probably Patriot).

Secondly, sources confirmed that the Novocherkassk BDK was transporting weapons and ammunition. Our interlocutors in the fleet refused to say what exactly was on board, but noted that this was a big loss for the front.

The Ukrainians are already shouting that there could be Iranian drones and ammunition on board, but we have no such information. However, the scale of the damage was serious, which does not lead to the most optimistic thoughts.

Thirdly, the ship is unlikely to be restored. In the morning we contacted our sources in the Navy, they say that the Novocherkassk has suffered greatly and with a 90% probability it will be impossible to return it to service.

At least 21 sailors were killed as a result of the enemy strike. Some of them, for some unknown reason, were left to spend the night on the ship. Some were involved in guarding the ship. Great tragedy.

Let us recall that in November we stated that Russia is losing its Black Sea Fleet step by step. Perhaps it’s time to think about withdrawing at least the most valuable ships to Novorossiysk, and perhaps further?

On board the attacked BDK “Novocherkassk” there were “Calibers” which was attacked last night. The large landing ship Novocherkassk, is unlikely to be restored. Most likely, they won’t even try. This was reported by our sources in the Navy.

“There was a strong detonation. The landing ship was loaded to capacity,” our interlocutor said. According to him, there were at least 2 Caliber missiles on board. There were also other high-precision weapons, including KAB-500 aerial bombs - at least 4 pieces, one of which went under water and miraculously did not explode. There were other weapons as well.

Sources in the fleet called the incident a “tragedy and a catastrophe,” because according to updated data, 23 crew members were killed. Most of them, by order of the command, rested on board the ship, and not in barracks and hotels, which led to the tragedy.

“Dozens of bodies, some burned alive right in the cabins. Horrible,” an experienced sailor and our longtime friend described the situation.

The command insists that the enemy could have been directed at the ship by one of the local residents or even sailors from other ships. “A thorough check has begun,” the fleet summed up.
