Everything has gone up so much the last 3 years. Any grocery item now costs more...way more than it did 3 yrs ago. Throw away cups I used to pay $1.99 for are now right at $5. Laundry detergent, fabric softener & bleach ....I hate when I run low on any of it due to the current prices. Store brand bleach used to be $1.99 a gallon. Now it is just under $5 and the size has shrunk. The one thing that just blows my mind is the price of deodorant! I used to buy a can of spray deodorant for anywhere from $1.49 to $2.29 a can. Now to buy an aerosol can of deodorant the price is currently $8.57! It leaves me shaking my head in disbelief these are the prices now. Our Country is in deep trouble and I don’t see a light at the end of the tunnel.
The people who claim that the cost of living has not gone up much are absolutely wrong.
They pick items to determine that increase that is not what ordinary people tend to need to buy. It’s easy to manipulate statistics by picking and choosing what you are using to make them.
Part of my “prepping” over the years was buying crazy stockpiles of non-perishable goods.
My main concern was the long supply chains that could be disrupted at any time—but it turned out that inflation has been a bigger issue.
My purchases of such items are rare but as you say it is sticker shock for sure.
The DC gaslighters hope we are stupid.

*IF* you can even find aerosol deodorant.
The three Kroger’s within 20 miles of my house have 1 brand (Arrid X-tra Dry, I believe in the gold can).
I have 3, but when I run out, I’m sure it’s going to cost me!
