It’s not a perfect parallel, but the retaking of Mosul is an interesting study. This is a higher number than most estimates, but Kurdish intel believes 40,000 were killed; many of those residents were killed by ISIL as said residents tried to get out. Many ended up buried in the rubble.
In any event, the casualties are no surprise and certainly not indicative of “genocide” on Israel’s part. Mosul, Fallujah, Marawi, now Gaza... The general pattern is pretty clear. :-(
Bottom line war is always hell. I fully expect we will find out sooner rather than later. That’s why we will not give up our weapons, period.
