We only have the rights we defend, as long as we are able.

We are only as free as we make the effort to know why.

"...Among Biden supporters, 41 percent now believe violence is justified “to stop [Republicans] from achieving their goals.” An almost identical percentage, 38 percent, of Trump supporters now embrace violence to stop Democrats..."

It is important to note that the goals of Conservatives are generally within the confines of the guidelines of the Constitution, and that 38% of us say that violence may be justified to ensure the Constitution is observed.

The goals of the Left (Biden voters, et al) are most generally OUTSIDE the guidelines of the Constitution, and that ANY of them are willing to pursue their goals by violence is sobering.

“In the end, a constitution remains a covenant not between citizens and their government but between each other as citizens. It demands a leap of faith; a commitment that despite our differences we will defend the rights of our neighbors.”

Mr. Turley, we know our fellow citizens all too well by now to make that leap of faith. We don’t need to speculate if our neighbors on the left will defend our rights; we already know with a certainty that they will not only not defend them, but will gleefully attempt to rob us of every last one of them, because that’s what they’ve been doing for years now.

...More Americans Are Rejecting The Constitution...

It's not "Americans" that are Rejecting The Constitution.

I don’t understand the cartoon. It’s a bunch of old and elderly white people with torches and pitchforks.
Not blacks, shaggy haired antifa, green haired lesbos and homos, unibrow palestinians, etc.

Those are the once bringing the violent rejection of the Constitution to todays world.

“The Madisonian system spent as much time on what divided us; it not only recognized the danger of factions but created a system to bring such divisions to the surface where they could be addressed.”

And letting people openly vent their frustrations is good.

But the level of those frustrations are much lower in a society that has fairly homogeneous values and racial makeup.

When you allow different groups of people with values diametrically opposed to yours to come into your “house”, you’re going to end up with people not just frustrated, but at each other’s throats.

Diversity is discord, Multiculturalism is suicide.

What's that old saying?

"There are four boxes to be used in the defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and cartridge. Please use in that order."

The political and academic "leaders" in this country have almost completely destroyed the first three.

“...increasing number of citizens have lost faith in our constitutional system...”

Yeah, a two-tiered justice system (where democrats get away with everything) will tend to do that. /spit

If Americans have rejected the Constitution, its because our government (with the help of printed, fiat money and massive debt) abandoned it years ago.

Not surprisingly, many of these people have lost faith in democracy. Some 31 percent of Trump supporters believe that the nation should explore alternative forms of government.

Come on Turley, you know better than this. We are not a democracy, we are a republic so if the questions on the survey say democracy, the questions are flawed.

No mention of the 17th Amendment which pulled the keystone from our Framers’ Constitution.

Sad

In the end, a constitution remains a covenant not between citizens and their government but between each other as citizens. It demands a leap of faith; a commitment that despite our differences we will defend the rights of our neighbors.

Conservatives believe in our Constitutions... Liberal 'elites' are more than welcome to move to hellholes where the strong and wealthy push around and brutalize the powerless.. They can leave tomorrow. ( and yeah, I kind of proved Turley's point - but I'm against violence. If liberals don't want to live under our Constitution - really they should just leave.)
