Hamas just wants to watch the world burn. They’re trying to provoke a response from Israel so overwhelming it draws other Arab nations into the fight. The goal is escalation.
What other Arab nations?
Egypt? No.
Jordan? Definitely no.
Saudi Arabia? Not bloody likely.
Syria? Yeah riiiight.
Iraq? No way.
Kuwait? Hardly.
All the others, Qatar, UAE, Bahrain are too small and wealthy to give a damn...........
Decades of muted responses has certainly made Hamas escalate.
Despite what Red Badger responded, you are right. The goal was to evoke a major response from Israel. However, you cast too small a net.
Once Israel attacks Gaza a lot of non-Arab nations will withdraw their “support” of Israel. People will soon forget the terrorist acts of Hamas once Israel actually starts killing Palestinians. The dead babies will soon be forgotten.
bingo!
Jordan won’t join the fight. Egypt, Syria, Lebanon: doubtful. Saudi, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman: no, too worried about making millions of $$$. Iraq / Yemen / Libya: maybe.
All of those nations contain extremist groups who may contribute mercenaries to defend the Hamas swine, but none of their current governments would be likely to join WWIII. If coups happen, that may change.
