‘Green cards’ refers to regular immigration. Application made and granted for permanent residency.
This is irregular immigration. This is the backdoor asylum path being exploited by the administration.
Aliens use to have to apply for asylum at a US consulate abroad. Now they are able to cross illegally and apply.
The law says they must be held until a ‘Credible Fear Hearing’ can be held to determine if the alien is even eligible for asylum. (Few are)
In order to obtain work authorization the alien must wait 90 days after their credible fear hearing to obtain a work permit only if they qualify.
The administration has ignored all these laws and regulations so the alien is given a future court date to appear for their eligibility hearing. (Almost none show up)
Now the dems want to grant them work authorization before it is even determined they qualify for asylum.
