Russia's Black Sea Fleet Headquarters Demolished and Commanding Admiral Presumed Dead
Red State ^ | September 22, 2023 | Streiff

A volley of Ukrainian cruise missiles demolished the headquarters of Russia's Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol, in Occupied Crimea. The strategic communications directorate of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced the attack that took place around noon Sevastopol time this way on social media:

(snip)

Fleet Headquarters was struck by two or three cruise missile, either British Storm Shadow or French SCALP-EG. In this video you can see one of them on short final.

There are reports of several high-ranking officers killed or injured in the attack. Unofficially, Admiral Viktor Sokolov, commander of the Black Sea Fleet, was among the dead.

To understand how we got here, you need to look at Ukrainian military operations over the last two or three weeks. A little over a week ago, Ukrainian cruise missiles and unmanned surface vehicles destroyed two Russian warships, a submarine and a landing ship, and an antiaircraft patrol vessel was damaged while underway. That attack had been set up by a commando raid on a radar and antiaircraft site in Crimea that punched a hole in the air defense belt surrounding Sevastopol. Other antiaircraft sites have been hit in the last two weeks; Last week, an S-400 antiaircraft missile battery covering downtown Sevastopol, the location of the Black Sea Fleet headquarters, was taken out.

These attacks opened a corridor for Ukrainian strike aircraft to get very close to Crimea before launching their missiles.

Do you mean Chaplins, like the Orthodox priest Chaplins I told you about earlier?

That is the common practice, in the American military we have
Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and Buddhist Chaplains. Christian is the largest group, but also represent many denominations.

Do you have any idea how many much older Orthodox churches we bombed in Kosovo? Or that we stood by and watched be destroyed by the KLA?

Russian did not bomb the cathedral in Odessa but it was damaged by a hit from a missile.

Here is one WE bombed.

I love this sudden concern for ancient Orthodox churches.

We don’t offer Orthodox liturgies in the field like Russia.

Oh look. The Ukraine army also destroyed Orthodox churches. And this was before Zelensky. There is a pic at the link.

https://www.pravmir.com/nine-orthodox-churches-destroyed-ukraine-war-synod/

On December 18, 2014, some people wearing army uniforms, who referred to themselves as members of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, robbed the country residence of the Donetsk Eparchy in the village of Peski, Yasynuvata district, Donetsk region. We are asking you, dear Pyotr Alexeyevich, to ensure a proper and impartial inquiry into the event,” according to the letter, which was posted on the website of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Five eparchies in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions are still active and include over 1,100 churches, 17 monasteries, about 1,100 priests and over 350 monks, Synod members aid.

There were attempts by representatives of the self-proclaimed Kyiv patriarchate to seize parishes in the Kiev, Lvov, Ternopol, Volyn and Rovno regions, the letter’s authors said.

“By now, 14 parishes of our Church have been seized. The situation in six other ones remains tense. Unfortunately, the Ukrainian laws regarding the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are normally being violated with tacit approval, and sometimes even at the behest, of local authorities,” the letter said.

The Synod also reassured Poroshenko that it favors “the political independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.”

Celebrating the deaths of Russians just tells us how very sick you all are, spiritually.

May God forgive you.

We never celebrate the deaths of Ukros.
War is very ugly. Perhaps soon this lesson will be made clear to you.

Every single day the Ukraine army bombs and injures or kills innocent civilians near Donetsk.

Why in the world are you posting about this silly stuff to me?

If you want to learn about military Chaplins then look them up.

“The Orthodox Church in America is a member of the National Conference of Ministry to the Armed Forces (NCMAF), and a member of the Endorsers for Chaplaincy Veterans Affairs Centers (ECVAC) and is recognized by the Armed Forces Chaplains Board to certify and endorse chaplains to serve in the armed forces.”

Do you want to guess how many civilians in France, Belgium, and Holland were killed by Allied air and arty in 1944-45? It’s WAR. Putin invaded their country in 2014 and never left. In 2022 he sought to invade the REST and that’s exactly what he meant to do . He sent elite troops and his most modern vehicle not to expand Donbass but to capture Kyiv. His forces were defeated but the attack showed his true intention. The reabsorbtion of Ukraine into Russia. Step two of his plan to recreate the USSR. Ossettia in Georgia was first. I don’t like Zelensky or Ukie leadership but they’ve been invaded, what are they supposed to do?

There are at least a few more than three sides to this, and probably more like several more.

I was paying attention and didn’t like Zelensky in 2019. I thought he was a soft touch and I thought Russia is campaigning for him.

They probably were.

His shaping up is a surprise and very good news. The way he told Biden “I need ammo not a ride” was cool and it was bold, but the risk of him staying paid off (and I believe it was a tremendous risk for him personally).

Zelensky was young and unproven. He was an actor. Putin thought that he’ll be a pushover. Plus Biden just became President. That made things even worse.

I do not know if Ukraine will be able to retake the land now held by Russia but it is clear that Russia has already past its high water mark

You totally clueless as to what's going on.

Russia would be more than happy to settle for liberating the territory it know possesses so long as Ukraine pledges not to enter NATO and remain neutral.

However, the Russians have been playing defense for months because the Ukrainians keep feeding their soldiers into the Russian meat grinder. The Ukrainian army is running of troops and most of those fighting have very little experience. So, at some point if the Russians, who have hundreds of thousands of troops in reserve, want to go the offensive, Ukraine won't have any ability to stop them.

It's beyond belief you believe the propaganda you're posting. You're dangerously ignorant.

The only person who ever declared Crimea belonged to The Ukraine was Nikita Khrushchev. So please, go on and tell me how a Communist dictator’s 1950s edict that historically and ethnically Russian territory should be considered sacred today.
