Like all things Democrat, they just have to say it often enough to make it true. As for fooling the people, well, only a very few are not fooled, making them too weak to be effective; the rest have a hard time naming their state capitol. So it is done: America, land of igmorance.

They can SAY this is a democracy — and they do, even single day. That’s pretending. And the sheeple believe it.
I have thought recently about writing an essay detailing my understanding of this event — The great American Dumpster Fire. As Orwell so plainly set out for us, so much of it is controlled by language.
This essay is well intended but as all writers learn, the editor can ruin it all in writing the Headline or Title of the piece. Democracy, as others have pointed out already, is not what we had, intended or longed to possess.
A Representative Government of diffuse powers with various functionaries limited by each other and put in temporary office by various electoral means including election, appointment and transitory methods was the goal of our forebears.
The ancient Greeks had a mandatory Democracy that presided over the death of one of their city states: Athens. My reading of the details shows that this male property owner, mandatory participation and job holding polity was put in place by a branch of the Nobility that knew its faction was not strong enough to long prevail. It wanted a stalking horse, a false front that it could indirectly control, not by its own forces but by the force of the mob.
What was it that was so notable about the birth of History in the study of the Peloponnesian War where the Good Guys caused death, excess, brutality and falsehood outdoing the Bad Guys?
Why did our well read forefathers lament the rise of King Numbers (as they referred to democracy) and rail against it shouting Republic, Republic, Republic?
A Tyranny by a mathematical faction is still a tyranny. One Man, One Vote, One Time.
The same way they honestly cant speak of the benefits of Covid vaccines, defunding the police, or opening the border...they will continue to do so.... despite the glaring facts saying its a lie. Ive never thought folks would be so easily gaslit.

At first. And then people will get used to it, and get busy with their daily lives. Soon enough, that 150 million will dwindle to 100 million, then 75 million. And so on and so forth.

I blame a lot of it on the purposeful dumbing down and brainwashing of society, starting in the ‘70s. It’s just easier for retarded people, i.e., liberals, to be manipulated by the press than to actually think and reason. Thinking is haaard.

Exactly right. Question is how do you use guns passively? Brag about how much ammo you have and go back to watching the ballgame?

we’ve been conditioned. The bigger the lie the more we strive to believe it.
Imposed ideology breeds a countervailing force of refusal to comply, not in everybody, but in a significant minority that is willing to strike back. No matter how much mischief on the short term that a monomaniacal ideologue can bring down upon society, that society will, so long as it still possesses the means to resist, continue to sabotage and hit back in sometimes very asymmetrical ways. No matter how beautifully the proposed utopia is painted, by making a poor assessment of how people really think, the continuation of that vision is doomed, and will collapse. Sometimes this collapse is only to allow another even more flawed vision to arise, but in the chaos, like a phoenix bird, a more perfectly formed paradigm arises, and succeeds beyond imagination.
