that is the exact opposite of a Senator. All they do is speak, and never lead.

The upside for lifelong pols is that there is not term limits.

Plus, I agree with him

That comment negates the rest of your post.

Speaking of which ...

He was better than Hillary would have been. That's a very low standard to meet. And 2020 was a fraudulent election.

One thing for sure, that behavior will not garner one single undecided or independent vote that’s for sure.......trump can get all the primary votes and nominations he wants, but those votes are what it’s gonna take to win the war.....

"A “good leader” has no interest in a legislative body like the U.S. Senate."

He can't run for Governor again, and will be out of office in January 2027. He would need the platform of Senator to run for President in 2028. I doubt he'd get any traction running as a civilian in 2028.

Yep, add that to the long list, like the Russian Dossier, the Trump tower eavesdropping...

Agree. He’s sounding wish washy if this is true. He woudl be running against Rick Scott who is an anti-Mitch McConnell guy. Who will DeSantis support if he is in the Senate.

Trump has said a lot of stupid stuff but that takes the cake why would DeSantis not the other name the future jailbird calls him would he run for the Senate. He is just about guaranteed the nomination after Trump is either throwed in jail or loses the election in 2024

“...winning debate performance and the strong momentum that has followed,” Bryan Griffin, a press secretary for DeSantis’ campaign, said in a statement.”

correcting typo:

Baghdag Bob said in a statement.

The childish stuff from Trump is annoying.

I love Trump, voted for him, he was cheated, and I’d happily vote for him again, but he’s doing his darn-est to make me not like him.

(Not that he cares, I suppose.)

"Better watch out for them strong roomers."

Cofeve worked quite well for Trump. Pooh-pooh Trump's statement all you want. The fact is, that there were a lot of people who complained when Trump began criticizing DeSantis late last year, and early this year, asking: "Why is he attacking him. He hasn't even announced that he's running." And as usual, Trump knew back then that DeSantis was planning to run, and was right all along. So let's talk about "roomers," and rumors, because Trump has a history of making statements that turn out to be true.

“>>Fun’s fun, but the stakes are too high to be treating this like some sort of retarded game.”

The stakes are too high to be obsessing over Trump’s language. His language is the same it’s been for 8 years, and it’s the same language that saw him through two election wins - the 2020 steal, not withstanding.

Running as a “civilian” would have been his best opportunity in 2028. He would have been free to run as the presumptive nominee for two years, unfettered by any obligations to a public office.

A Senate seat is not a viable platform for a presidential candidate — especially in the Republican Party. He will be forever branded as a Beltway insider, and will be polling at about 15% before he drops out of the race in humiliating fashion.

He’d be better off running from a toilet seat.
