In a world where I can say I’m a woman, take a shower in the Women’s Locker Room, and then scratch my balls...why not?...

Have to wonder why the conservatorship is still in force.

Exactly. Oher is a 37 year old man, retired from the NFL. Why does this family still hold a conservatorship over him?

My guess: like most ex-NFL players, Oher is bankrupt. Moreover, he’s got some baby-momma or piece of a** telling him: “screw those crackers, you got to get your money!”

Just letting my febrile mind run wild.....

Is it even still in force? The operating language of the conservatorship stated that it would terminate at 25 OR by a Judge. Pretty sure that means that at age 25 there was no longer an enforceable conservatorship.

It ought to be really easy to determine whether or not the Tuohy’s ever did anything as conservators as it related to the NFL. If not, that would overwhelmingly support the Tuohy’s contention that they did it to satisfy the NCAA so that he could go to school.

The better question is why this 37-year-old never attempted to end the conservatorship before. Why is he only complaining now?

He wasn’t even a good football player in the NFL. Ole Miss, yeah.

For me, the better question is still why this family would want to hold a conservatorship over a middle-aged man. The Tuohys are obviously wealthy and did not need money from Oher's NFL career. Conservatorships are a lot of responsibility - why hold one over a grown man who seems fully competent?

Why didn’t the conservatorship expire when Oher turned 21?

a coworker of mine had a crack head niece in Detroit that had a 10 year old daughter, they wanted to help so they adopted the daughter. they took care of her for 4 years and the niece decided she wanted her back and talked her into staying with her after a visit. The niece then filed for child support and got it from her uncles family.

You’d think the fact that his last name remained Oher and not Tuohy…mighta been a clue he wasn’t adopted. Plus his bio mother was in court during the conservator proceedings

Conservatorships are a lot of responsibility - why hold one over a grown man who seems fully competent?

"Competent" may be the key word here. But, if there is some issue with the the conservatorship, it is up to the supposedly competent grown man to have it ended. He consented to it when he was about 18, but didn't complain until he was 37? This is all on him.

Remember Brittany Spears? Her father got conservatorship over her supposedly because of mental health issues, and within a few years she was fighting to get it removed. Oher only now is complaining?

“The conservatorship was granted until Oher reached the age of 25 or until the court terminated the order, but the arrangement was never terminated, Oher’s petition claims.”

Why would an expired conservatorship need to be terminated once it expired?

So, his agent and lawyers never clued him in on a conservatorship? And, no one ever checked the court for this? Most courts have this stuff online. And…the conservator has to file an annual report with the court.

His management team was not doing their jobs.

Too much of this story is unknown. Conservatorships must be granted through the court by a Judge, and they are usually only requested when a person is incapable of taking care of their own needs/making their own decisions, and that usually means, people who are mentally and/or physically disabled.

This story needs to start from the beginning, including the time that led up to Oher's moving in with the Touhy's, detailing everything that led up to his moving in with them, and what resulted afterwards.

When Conservatorships are sought, an evaluation should have been completed, and turned over to the court, for the Judge to base his decision on. Where is that? Was one ever done? Is there an actual public record detailing this Conservatorship? Where is the transcript of the hearing that granted this alleged Conservatorship? All we have is accusations, no hard facts from either side yet...no official papers that recorded what is supposed to have occurred.

Where was social services during this time? He'd been in foster care since he was 7. What role did they play regarding his moving in with the Touhy's? When did social services legally discharge him from their protection? I worked for a county children's services department from the mid 60's to the early 70's. Back then, the court had to be involved when a child was discharged from the care of the agency. I'm assuming the courts still get involved when kids are discharged from child protection, so where are these records?

Like I said earlier, there are way too many unknown facts regarding this case, but hopefully, the truth will eventually come out for both sides. That being said, it wouldn't be the first time someone took advantage of an uneducated kid, but it also wouldn't be the first time that a lawyer took advantage of a naive man. In the end, neither side will win.

He made 40 million in the NFL. If he plays taxes and agent he likey cleared half. Did he get and blow through his money. Or do they have it. Is he looking for a piece of the blind side money. I would not be surprised it they gave him some of the money. If this man has blown through his money and is looking to take money from the family then he is disgusting. Did he take care of them when he got paid by the NFL. And the NFL has a great retirement. You ain’t getting millions a year but it’s pretty good and if you enroll in their 401k plan then you get a nice little check when you retire. Plus you have great insurance for life I know a retired player that’s had that had his knees and shoulders replaced and a lot of other fusion surgeries in his neck and back. It’s a rough road when you plays for a long time.

It will be interesting to hear the Touhey’s response to all of this. The victim pimps have gotten ahold of big Mike.
