This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Defense has the advantage, as I have previously stated, many times.

It holds for the Ukrainians as well as the Russians.

Kremlin snuffbox
Valery Gerasimov announced the imminent loss of Tokmok and resumed negotiations with the Americans

He made such a statement during a conversation with several generals, a source in the General Staff said. “We will most likely lose Tokmok in August or September, the enemy has become very active. There are questions about Melitopol, ”our interlocutor quoted Gerasimov as saying.

According to him, the chief of the General Staff believes that it is necessary to withdraw troops from Tokmak so as not to suffer heavy losses and save forces for the defense of other districts of the Zaporozhye region. “Otherwise, you can lose everything,” Gerasimov said.

The source noted that not all generals agree with Gerasimov - some representatives of the General Staff are in favor of retreating from Tokmak, some are categorically against and accuse their boss of “defeatist moods” and “plans to surrender our territories to the enemy.” A conflict is brewing in the General Staff. In addition, the retreat from Tokmok is unlikely to be supported by Vladimir Putin now.

At the same time, a source close to Gerasimov told us that the head of the General Staff had resumed his negotiations with his American colleague Mark Milley. This week he called him twice.

The last conversation between Gerasimov and Milli took place during the Wagner PMC mutiny in June, we wrote more about it here . What the parties were talking about this time, we are clarifying and will tell you soon.

Afraid for Crimea? Valery Gerasimov requested urgent negotiations with Ukraine

Asked about the Crimea. We learned what Gerasimov talked about with the American Milly

Three sources - in the General Staff and the Ministry of Defense - revealed to us the main theses of the conversation between Valery Gerasimov and his American colleague Mark Milli. about the fact of this conversation We wrote recently .

Gerasimov called Milli with a message for the Ukrainian army and Ukrainian generals. The message was something like this: stop attacking the Crimea and claim that you will win it back. Stop rocket and drone strikes and leave Crimea alone. In exchange for this, Gerasimov is ready to return to the issue of the withdrawal of Russian troops from a number of cities, including Tokmak, Melitopol and Mariupol. It is not the first time Gerasimov has spoken to the Americans about the “exchange” of Melitopol and Mariupol for Crimea .

Milli replied that he would convey this request to the Ukrainians, but they were unlikely to agree to such a compromise. The American military believes that now Kiev has a chance to retake the Crimea, and the window of opportunity in this matter “will not close in the near future.” At the same time, it is also impossible to say that Russia will definitely lose Crimea. Tough battles lie ahead.

Gerasimov, in turn, noted that “the fighting can still be stopped before it’s too late.” What he meant by “late”, none of our sources fully understood.

Kremlin snuffbox
Rumors spread in the army that Ukraine is preparing a large-scale “act of retaliation” by the end of August

The latest attacks on Moscow (and not only), as well as the news of a brazen sabotage in one of the barracks of Sevastopol, provoked a number of rumors in the Russian army. In particular, they say that intelligence received secret information about the preparation of a number of measures by the enemy in the second half of August.

“August 24 is the day of the so-called independence of Ukraine. There is information that serious strikes are being prepared, and not only against Moscow,” our intelligence interlocutor says.

According to a source from the FSB, there has been an increase in sabotage activities, and in a number of regions the enemy is already successful. By the end of August, an increase in the number of terrorist attacks - sabotage at enterprises, transport and energy hubs is expected.

But the military in the NVO zone and not far from it are even more alarmed. After the news that nine soldiers were stabbed to death in their sleep in Sevastopol, guards were increased at night in a number of units in the Crimea.

“Officers put up guards for themselves, the military themselves are afraid to go to bed. They fall asleep on their nerves and from fatigue. And this is in the rear! The situation is very tense,” says a military man from among the mobilized. He is engaged in the repair of equipment in Melitopol.

“Gerasimov has spoken to the Americans about the “exchange” of Melitopol and Mariupol for Crimea .”

I said many months ago, the peace treaty will be for RuZZia to keep Crimea and Ukraine gets all the rest of its territory.

The view wasn’t popular amongst some of my friends here on FR. But it is what I think will happen.

Could be wrong. Time will tell.

I have suggested the same. Ukraine would have to have meaningful security guarantees from the west, or Russia would just use the “treaty” to rearm for another war. I don’t think Russia is willing to give up on territory taken in 2014, but they could negotiate neutrality and disarmament of the LPR/DPR/CRIMEA.

LPR/DPR must go back to Ukraine.

That is non negotiable.

Crimea can be bargained.

Again, just my opinion.

If the West forces Ukraine to the peace/bargaining table without any prospect of regaining all of Ukraine and all of Crimea, the people of Ukraine will see that as one more betrayal like the Kurds, like the Afghanis. And they will hate the US implacability.

My 1 1/2 cents.

One of the peace plan options has Russia “leasing” Crimea from Ukraine.

Suppose the peace treaty includes the right of Ukraine to join NATO / EU.

That might placate them.

I know people on Ukraine’s side will disagree with me.

Sure, I hope Crimea returns to Ukraine. But just saying how I think this war ends.

I don’t believe this.

“China imposes curbs on drone exports, citing Ukraine and concern about military use”

“China imposed restrictions Monday on exports of long-range civilian drones, citing Russia’s war in Ukraine and concern that drones might be converted to military use.

Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s government is friendly with Moscow but says it is neutral in the 17-month-old war. It has been stung by reports that both sides might be using Chinese-made drones for reconnaissance and possibly attacks.

Export controls will take effect Tuesday to prevent use of drones for “non-peaceful purposes,” the Ministry of Commerce said in a statement. It said some drone exports still will be allowed.”

That will leave Ukraine facing hoards of Lancelot and Iranian-Made-in-Russia drones without any answer. If true.
