Chris Christie Suffers Total Meltdown over Trump Wanting to Skip Debates: “It’s Not Fair!”

2024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie went ballistic over President Donald Trump for previously suggesting he may not participate in the GOP primary debates.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, host Brian Kilmeade played a clip from Trump’s recent interview with Bret Baier, where he said he didn’t feel the need to participate in the primary debates because his poll numbers were demolishing other Republican candidates.

“Christie is, I guess, 1% or less. Many of them, Nikki Haley’s is a 2%. So why would I allow people at one and 2% and 0% to be hitting me with questions? You know, I don’t think it’s fair,” Trump said.

Kilmeade asked Chris Christie to respond, who had a total meltdown over the prospect of Trump not taking part in the debates.

“Oh, it’s not fair, Brian. It’s not fair.” Christie snapped.

“Poor Donald Trump,” he added.

Christie went on to mock Trump as “the guy who wants to be president of the United States, the guy who says that he’s the toughest person to lead this country, doesn’t want to get up in front of Republican primary voters and defend his record and make a case for the future of America.”

“Look, every Republican primary voter should have the opportunity to see all those people who qualify up on the stage debating with each other,” he continued before plugging his website for donations.

“He can’t avoid this, Brian. It’s not fair to the Republican Party voters,” he said.

“I think it’s disrespectful. He thinks he should just default to the nomination. I don’t think so. And I believe that everyone should have the right to get up there and debate who qualifies under the rules,” Christie added.

“And Donald Trump has an obligation to be up there and do it. And by the way, I think he will debate Bryan. I don’t think you’ll be able to stay away.”

This isn’t the first time Christie has had a meltdown over Trump.

024 GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie suffered a meltdown when Fox News anchor Bill Hemmer praised former President Donald Trump

During an interview on “America’s Newsroom” earlier this month, Fox host Hemmer noted Trump is “crushing it” in the polls, leading him to ask if voters actually want a Trump critic like Chris Christie in the Republican primary.

Christie, a “Trump critic,” did not handle this well.

After trying to shrug off Trump, Christie turned his attention to President Joe Biden, which led to Hemmer bringing up the border,

Then Hemmer noted that Trump’s policies “did much better on everything you just mentioned.”

Christie couldn’t handle it.

“Wait a second, Bill. His policies did not do better at the border. Not true,” Christie retorted.

“Remember what he promised in 2016? He was going to build a wall across the entire border in the first four years, and Mexico was going to pay for it. We got a wall that’s about a quarter of the way done, and Mexico hasn’t given us one peso yet.” he said.

“So Donald Trump in 2016 was the guy who had no record, so he couldn’t be examined in a very specific way. He now said he was going to do that with immigration. And by the way, he had Congress for the first two years fully controlled by the Republicans. Not one change in the immigration laws,” Christie added,

“You can go down to the border today and see piles of steel that are just laying there in the Arizona desert,” Hemmer said.

“Those piles of steel have been sitting there since Donald Trump was president,” Christie shot back.

>> That is a bad and sad thing.

Aw. You has a sad. I sorry.

Well, I has a HAPPY! As President Trump stratospherically increases his lead over the motley crew of losers opposing a nomination that justly belongs to him alone, I’m having fun watching formerly snarling pitbull aggressors here melt down into blubbering concern troll types. I understand it’s kinda all you got now.

P. S. Christie IS fat. Grover Cleveland fat. Fat unbecoming to a man who would be President. “No self control” fat. UNLIKE President Trump, who is quite disciplined in such matters and is correspondingly fit, and energetic. Facts are facts.

Is he fat? I don’t think anyone noticed. The grammar school “fat jokes” are tiresome and lazy.

Christie's act is tiring. Hired out by Big Media, his arguments are misleading, transparent and targeted for the lazy.

People reach a point with that nonsense, throw their hands up in the air, respond accordingly, and call him "fatso".

I don't blame them one bit.

When you can’t keep up with Trump and 6th+ place in the primary is already wearing you out…

There’s no reason for Trump to debate the one and two percenters. When the race gets down to three or four people then Trump should be in the debate.

That depends bigly upon the parameters of the debate — including the venue, and who intends to “moderate” it.

I don’t see the need for christie, haley, hutchinson or any other poll bottom dweller to be in debates. Their numbers fairly well show that voters already know all they need to know about them.

The only other things that define him is his loud mouth and self serving statements. I doubt that he really thinks much of anyone except himself and his own interests. Trump got a good lesson in his first term of the lying sacks that are drawn to the light like moths. You would think someone who has had thousands of employees would be better at recognizing bs.

I agree with you 100%.

ALL our people should refuse to ‘debate’ if the usual progressive/liberal activists - pretending to be journalists - are doing the moderating.

Oh, so you are living in 2016 and holding onto that.

That’s a bad way to go through life. Reliving 2016 and 2020 is a good way to lose 2024.

No. I’m saying Brett Baier is a sucky, conniving moderator.

He hasn’t changed his stripes just because it’s a different year.
