Right... I think Trump is happy. This case is garbage and Im not sure the defense needs a whole lot of time to produce reasonable doubt. This case is in Florida and the judge is a Trmup appointee so Im thinking its a as close to ideal as it can get for Trump.
Yes, and Trump’s lawyers won’t have time to get the security clearances needed to look at the evidence. I believe the judge ordered that his lawyers have the clearances before looking at the documents in question. The FBI is in charge of the background investigation regarding clearances, and you can bet they will slow-walk the process. Trump’s lawyers will not be given time to prepare a proper defense, and unless the judge intervenes by delaying the trial, Trump won’t have much of a chance.
Trump may have asked for the fast track trial.
I’ve been practicing law for >30 years, have had many hundres of cases. Never had one go to trial in less than a year, nost take 2-3 years.
When was the last time you ever heard of a case where the defense didn't have adequate time to prepare for trial?
The last time I sat on a jury, I could tell from the docket number that the case had been filed three years earlier. The trial had probably been rescheduled at least a half-dozen times before they got to jury selection.
We just don’t know.
So what do you make of all this?
Normally you would be correct and there would be ample time. But this is a totally corrupt federal judicial system run by people who are themselves criminals, and their target is the one person who dares to take them on. When it comes to how the feds treat Donald Trump nothing works like it should, and his civil liberties don’t matter.
Another possibility is the feds want to get out front and say they were ready to go to trial while knowing a delay is likely. That might take away the argument that the corruptocracy waited until right before the election to take Trump to trial, and thus, interfere in the election.
Good, do that, and leave the rest of us alone.
