I wonder how many people have actually ever seen a ‘transgender person’. I’ve only ever seen them on the TV.

I’ve known gay people, and one male transvestite who had no interest in becoming a female; but no transgenders.

I’ve worked with 3. One, a really nice guy, went through the whole deal. He was around 40, Found out that life as a tranny wasn’t any better. He killed himself after about a year.

Another one, same sort of history, seems ok as a fake woman.

The third was just a complete mess. Would show up with a skirt one day and regular clothes the next. Had a lot of medical problems that supposedly prevented him from getting sliced and diced.

I have seen two. One of which had a group of blue haired harpies confront me when a food server asked if I had ordered something and I said, No, it’s that guy’s over there in the dress.” Hilarity ensued.

I know a dude (professionally; he’s a scientist) who had his crotch mutilated and boobs-by-duPont installed, many years ago. He’s a sad, sorry individual with no friends.

I have. My brother’s step daughter, who her CRAZY mom raised.

Had the surgery, took the hormones, was growing a beard.

I also know of one who I knew before she decided to *transition*. IMO, it’s a matter of her being jealous of her brother who she felt was more favored than her. Her dad are devastated by it. Don’t know about the mom.

I wonder how many people have actually ever seen a ‘transgender person’. I had an extended chat with one once in a coffee shop. I invited myself into a conversation he was having with his friends. We talked about current news and other general interest stuff, not about sexual identity. I decided that he was a somewhat brighter-than-average university student. After he left, I asked his friends, "I know this sounds odd, but I could not tell if your friend is male or female. Which is it?" They explained that he was "in transition" but had not yet had "the surgery."

He did not seem gay to me, and I spent a plenty of time around plenty of gay males in San Francisco. He just seemed female-ish.
