Today the most intense clashes took place in the Orikhiv direction. First of all, more information became available about the results of yesterday’s attacks.
When it comes to Lobkove, if yesterday Russian sources claimed that this village is in the grey zone, then today Russian sources confirmed that Ukrainians had established total control over the settlement and started moving further.
It was reported that in order to capitalize on these tactical gains, the size of the assault group has doubled: yesterday, Ukrainians used 4 Humvees and 2 tanks, while today, Ukrainians reportedly had 8 Humvees and 4 tanks.
If we look at the topographic map, we can see that this time Russians have a tactical advantage, so in order to overcome it, Ukrainians need to fix Russian troops while simultaneously closing the distance as fast as possible, which is now possible to do by moving through Lobkove.
When it comes to the attacks south of Orikhiv, more information became available here as well.
Russian sources released combat footage of the aftermath of 2 Ukrainian attacks south of Mala Tokmachka, which features real Leopard tanks.
During the first attack, Ukrainians used around 9 pieces of equipment, and during the second attack, they used around 11 pieces of equipment.
Unfortunately, the first assault group ran into mines, which allowed the Russian reconnaissance team to quickly spot the movement, request artillery support and repel the attack on the approach.
After this incident, Russian drone operators were closely monitoring the region for hours on end and managed to detect the second group timely as well.
This time the attack was prevented mostly by artillery fire, not mines.
In total, Ukrainians lost at least 4 armored personnel carriers and 1 Leopard tank. Other equipment was reportedly damaged and later pulled back for reparation [ repair ].
Based on the footage, we can identify that Ukrainians were moving along the tree line and were stopped right in front of the H-08 highway.
If we look at the topographic map, we can see that Ukrainians were advancing in the direction of tactical heights.
Ukrainians quickly rectified their mistakes. Recently released footage shows how yesterday Ukrainians used M58 to de-mine the problematic areas.
Ukrainians also conducted de-mining in multiple regions because otherwise, Russians would know that Ukrainians have only 1 viable path.
Ukrainians also launched the attack before dawn in order to complicate the early detection of troops, and it worked out.
Today Russian sources reported that the first Ukrainian assault group managed to reach the first line of defense and start close combat fighting.
It turned out that Ukrainians picked the area right in between 2 separate Russian companies, which allowed Ukrainians to exploit the lack of coordination on this section of the front line.
After gaining a foothold, Ukrainians reportedly reinforced the attack group with 10 armored fighting vehicles, including several tanks, and around 100 troops to support 5 lines of attack.
At 5 am, Russian sources reported that they lost 1 tactical height, which means that Russian forces were also successfully split.
After receiving more reinforcements, Ukrainians immediately started storming Russian defenses on the next tactical height, which Ukrainians reportedly shelled non-stop for 3 hours.
The fights continued almost until the evening.
The aftermath of the fights is hard to determine at this time.
Mainstream Russian sources reported that Ukrainians did not manage to take more positions.
Less prominent Russian sources cited a soldier on the ground who said that, in total, Ukrainians took several positions but did not breach the main line of defense.
A Ukrainian soldier on the ground reported that they could finally see Polohy in binoculars, further confirming that new tactical heights in the region were successfully taken.
The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed Ukrainians used 150 tanks and armored fighting vehicles.
They stated that they repelled the attack and destroyed 30 tanks, including 3 Leopards and 10 other armored vehicles.
This contradicts the reports of unofficial Russian sources, who also claim that a lot of equipment was destroyed, but unanimously say that Ukrainians are using far more wheeled vehicles, such as Humvees, than tanks.
On top of that, due to the ongoing media hunt on Leopards, confirming losses became even more difficult as some sources started photoshopping Leopards into the real footage.
Overall, Russian sources reported that Ukrainians managed to succeed in only 1 out of 5 lines of attack.
However, it is important to note that not all attacks are conducted to secure new positions.
Just line in chess, some moves are meant to fix the enemy forces, stretch the forces as thinly as possible, distract the enemy drone operators, stretch the artillery fire as thinly as possible, confuse the enemy command as to where is the main attack, and create uncertainty about the deployment of the reserves.
••Denys admits the counter attack has started because of the 3 days of fighting in the south. Shows UA column on a road the the front. There are 12 armored vehicles, including Leopard-2 tanks and a de-mining vehicle at the column front.
The took the only road that was not mined on the way to the front. They were traveling only a few meters apart, just inviting a strike. The ‘book’ says there should be at least a 15 meter separation.
[ Obviously a trap, and the Russians had already input the coordinates to their artillery. They just need their drone to spot the UA on the road. ]
He is quite disappointed at what happened to the column. After the initial, strike the video shows the tanks all bunched up in a single spot on the road.
Denys says the commanders of this column should be dismissed and prosecuted. Losses like the in battle are understandable, but not such losses on the way to the front. A big mistake. Plus, the Russian drone was flying freely over the column, ceding any air cover.
Where are the anti-drone electronic systems?
Where are the air defenses?
Where is the UA Military Intelligence that should have checked the possible directions for the future counter attack?
Where is the vaunted meticulous planning?
Denys said he well knows the actual place where the strike happened, and that all the surrounding fields were mined by the UA.
Denys said they should have reformed the army before the counter attack, but obviously they had not.
[ Where is the command personnel who were Western trained? The commanders who would not have led columns Soviet-stye? ]
Denys points to Ukrainian MoD Reznikov, who should’ve resigned a long tine ago, who was directly involved in corruption and the food scandals in the UA. [ Apparently, Reznikov is in command of the overall operation, not the Western trained generals. ]
There are still many ‘dinosaur’, inflexible, Soviet-stye commanders in the UA. These commanders do not care about human lives or equipment losses.
Continuing with the counter attack will bring more losses than there should be because of the Dinosaurs - so we should expect to hear more unnecessary losses of life and equipment.
Ukrainian media is silent on the losses and the reason for them. Just like the Russians: nothing is happening here.
Denys asks the Western allies to go into the Army, to figure out what is wrong with it, and make the changes needed. The utility of the Western weapons is on the line here, and wasting it before even getting close to the front is very bad.
Denys said some of the losses on the front are from traitors among the locals and the Army itself that gave the Russians the exact locations of pieces of equipment and troop locations. Many of these were eliminated, but some remain.
Analysis of the loses in that column are 4 M-113 vehicles and at least 1 Leopard-2 tank; there were others destroyed that remain unidentified due to poor video quality.
These Russian are not running away, unlike the ones around Bakhmut.
••In case of an unsuccessful counteroffensive, they will probably no longer help Ukraine - Politico. According to the publication, if the counter-offensive fails, then Western assistance may be stopped, and more pressure will be put on Ukraine to agree to peace talks with the Russian Federation.

As for the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It is unable to get the water to the cooling reservoir any longer because the water level in the Kahovka water reservoir dropped below the limit to enter the NPP lake. IAEA says that for now the NPP is safe and for the next month the water in NPP system is enough for cooling.

NATO reconnaissance planes circle the Black Sea. According to the Flight radar resource, an American Lockheed EP-3E Aries II electronic reconnaissance aircraft is flying over the territorial waters of Romania.
Also, the Romanian Black Sea coast is patrolled by a Boeing RC-135W Rivet Joint aircraft of the British Air Force.
They provide information about the Russian forces to Ukrainian army command.
