Kayleigh McEnany came under attack by her former boss on Truth Social last night. His very thin skin was pierced by the former White House press secretary, now a Fox News host and contributor. Kayleigh quoted a poll number Trump disagreed with and he went full force against her on his social media platform.

Kayleigh was hired by Trump to replace Sarah Huckabee Sanders. I really liked Sarah in the job, too. Both women had the ability to stand firm against the daily attacks by the press corps and defend Trump. They didn’t back down when the dialogue heated up, which it frequently did. Kayleigh was poised and very matter-of-fact in her answers, as a Harvard law school graduate, her training showed. She was a regular on CNN, the epicenter of Trump Derangement Syndrome, and would defend Trump as she sat for panel discussions. The panel was always Democrat-heavy because it was CNN, after all. She was a champ.
So, Kayleigh landed at Fox after her time at the White House came to an end. There is no doubt in my mind that Trump would have kept her as his press secretary if he served a second term. He praised her and her tenacity in defending her. Now that she sometimes speaks favorably of Ron DeSantis – she is a Florida resident and he is her governor – she is on Trump’s disloyal list. Loyalty goes only one way for Trump.

No one worked harder for Trump than Kayleigh. Trump’s reaction to her appearance on the Watters show is indefensible. He is an old and bitter man, obsessed with avenging his election loss in 2020. He acts as though he will remain 30 or more points ahead in the polls. That isn’t realistic.

I believe we have reached the point in this country, that no matter who the President is, at least 40% of the country will hate his guts.

If Trump is really up 34% or even 25% over his nearest competitor for the nomination, then he should be attacking Biden at every chance, and not the people whose support he will need in the general election.
Quite frankly, many people in my conservative circles are growing tired of Trump’s childish name-calling, especially suburban women.
Like Suburban women ever supported Trump.
I’ll concede it may not be a comfortable victory. But, as a person who has voted for Trump 2x and will vote for him again... it’s ok to question his thin skin and discipline.
I think you’re right. So much of that is due to the non-existence today of any real education and the resulting utter stupidity of so many. By design, it makes them easy to manipulate.
He pointed the error out, because many people would not have realized it.
Every bit of information given to the public is a plus or a minus. And the stakes are high.
This will cost him the election? Nonsense. Just a tidbit for the anti-Trumpers to chew on for a day or two.
Why the rush to protect McEnany? Because she worked so hard for Trump? Didn’t he give her the job? Then where’s her loyalty to him? Cuts both ways. She misrepresented his poll numbers likely to please her bosses. When someone attacks, lies or is disloyal to him, Trump strikes back. She’s no exception. She should know what she signed up for when she jumped aboard the DeSantis nightmare. Poor little dear. Get out the smelling salts!
I think he’s starting to crumble. Some very weird comments lately. I am very worried.

A good friend of mine is an American, with a strong Italian heritage (duel citizenship). This guy is a conservative Democrat. He voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020.
Trump lost my Italian friend over Trump disingenuously connecting DeSantis to the nickname “Meatball Ron”. That was the straw that broke the camel’s back. Is my friend being superficial here? Yes.
But it’s a lost vote nevertheless.

Ignore this sad fact at your peril. You would not believe -- I could not believe -- how many people did not vote from Trump because his constant insults and schoolboy behavior just turned them off. Those of us who worked on his campaign in 2020 were amazed when the stats came in after the election.
It may not bother you, and it sure doesn't bother me, but a lot of voters aren't like us. Trump's braggadocio turned off way more people than I ever would have guessed.
And who's 'protecting' McEnany? I'm not. She's just the latest person to get a blast of vitriol from Donald Trump. She's a big girl, she can take care of herself.

Then they are pathetically short-sighted and their priorities are completely upside-down. I can understand cringing at some of Trump’s choices for targets of his personal attacks, but to allow that to influence your vote would be the height of idiocy, especially given the DIRE state of our country at this moment. People like you describe are self-centered and driven by their emotions and are a constant drag on any attempt to restore this country. They also tend to have no real concept of how close we are to oblivion, instead luxuriating in the “normalcy bias” and as a result believing that business as usual is the “civil” way to go. But this is not the time for social niceties, it is time for serious men to do serious things. We need a bull in a china shop, not Miss Manners.
I have no doubt that the weaklings that you describe would have demanded the head of the likes of George Patton, and likely lost the war in Europe as a result. But their delicate sensibilities would be soothed, as they headed off to their mandatory German language lessons.
But a feeble demented President who opened the border, changed our culture, and crashed our economy turns them on? That's what public schools will do to a population in just a few decades.
A completely unnecessary comment from Trump, what was gained? “FOX should hire REAL STARS”. Here’s a gal that fought for him every day and he trashes her. I’m done.

Can't argue with you there. I don't know about "turned on" by Biden, though -- Trump's behaviors more "turned them off". They just didn't vote. And these were registered Rebpublicans, mind you. It was amazing, and more than a little disheartening.
And then, again, there was the DNC vote-fraud machine -- not here in FL, but in CA, PA, OH, MI, GA ad nauseum. That would have tipped the scales all by itself, and did.

Hot Air went off the reservation and basically is a hot bed for Never Trumpism. I’m surprised you pay for this. I use to slum around Hot Air when it was free because the majority of comments were in support of Trump. But the journalists themselves are bitter Trump haters.
