Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ office has responded to news that The Walt Disney Company will no longer build a headquarters for its theme park business in Florida. The news comes as Disney is in two legal battles over DeSantis’ actions to take over an Independent Special District that governs over Disney World property. Here’s the statement (via Scott Gustin):
Disney announced the possibility of a Lake Nona campus nearly two years ago. Nothing ever came of the project, and the state was unsure whether it would come to fruition.
Given the company’s financial straits, falling market cap and declining stock price, it is unsurprising that they would restructure their business operations and cancel unsuccessful ventures.
Following retaliatory action from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and a rubber-stamp legislature, Disney has added Florida to a list of legal threats to the Company’s operations. Florida joins a list of international political, trade, and security policy threats like the ongoing actions by Russia, threats to Hong Kong by China, and instability in France.

Beyond the Development Agreement, DeSantis has threatened to build a State prison at Walt Disney World. In an April 17th press conference, DeSantis floated some ideas on how CFTOD could use its land should the Development Agreement be determined to be null and void. It sounds farfetched, but DeSantis floated the idea among a list of other ideas for land use such as building more amusement parks in the immediate area next to Disney World.

Probably another paid to post henchman from the camp. Nausiating posts all over the place by paid operatives. It’s sinking his boat......
Maybe a Guantanamo North theme park?
I should’ve been less vague in my request. Do you remember a keyword or an event? I can look around, if I have a clue. I know time is precious for everyone. Was the insult or attack from a private meeting that’s been leaked or something else that just doesn’t come to mind at the moment? I haven’t found any public statements so far. I like to know both sides of a story, so that I can decide based on as many facts as possible.
I think both men are fighters and capable of good governance, although both are flawed. Whoever wins the nomination, most likely Trump, will be up against upgraded election-stealing in 2024.
It’s sad. Even Fox Business this morning was running with the narrative that Disney was retaliating against RDS. Uh, it’s a convenient narrative, but when DIS did nothing on this project for 2 years, I suspect that the real reasons for the cancelled move have nothing to do with RDS and everything to do with Disney’s business struggles.
So DeSantis admitted Trump was criminally setup, he admitted top officials in these agencies attacked Trump and all his associates for 7 yeaers while attempting to overthrow his administration, ALL of which totally influenced the last election....
And DeSantis’ response to all this high treason against Trump is to run AGAINST Trump?
Are you really buying this fantastic bull s**t?
Florida doesn’t need a bunch of perverted California fools moving there.
How about a visit to Solitary Land?
“DeSantis was also publicly critical of the illegal Mara-Lago raid by FBI goons.”
Several days, maybe weeks, after the fact. And it had to be dragged / shamed out of him.
For the children....
The WDW brand is dead. Sell the land for condos.
I don’t want to see Disney go bankrupt. I want it to return to the wholesome institution it used to be in the 1950’s.
Just stop the woke shit, Disney. It isn’t hard.
