Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

Just add something else.
Chinese social security system is their sons.
They had a single child system for years.
Mostly only sons were allowed to be born.
A war where hundreds of thousands of sons are killed will not go over well.
Look at what it did to Japan also a male centrist society.
Through out history if you kill off your best and brightest men, you sink into failure.
Matriarchal societies fail.

SpeedyInTexas could you start putting a link to your previous day’s thread at the top or bottom of your first post, it doesn’t need a description or explanation, just something like.
Yesterday’s thread https://freerepublic.com/focus/bloggers/4147229/posts

That would make it easier to check it for the overnight and morning new posts without having to look for it.

Here's my analysis:

Fighter aircraft have a jettison button that's used to dump all external stores in case of serious emergencies such as engine fire or failure.

If this were the case, then both bombs would have hit simultaneously & close to each other and they would not have detonated.

Supposedly, the weapons were winged smart bombs.

One report suggested that the wings did not deploy.

This is plausible, but the release wiring should have been set so the fuses don't arm until the wings deploy.

Also, the aircraft flight path should not have been over the city.

Another scenario is the pilot input the wrong GPS coordinates for the target and the bombs hit where they were aimed. The dud would have been a fuse malfunction (not uncommon).

Another possible, but unlikely scenario is that the bomb is GPS only, not GPS aided INS. UKR has developed or received a GPS spoofing capability and the bombs hit the spoofed target.

Regardless of the actual cause, this is a huge embarrassment for russia.

Also, the pilot is going to get the "Full Monty" treatment.

FAB-500M62 with 300kg payload is what is being reported.

Rusich group leader unsurprisingly declared again there are almost no fascists or nazis on the other [Ukrainian] side and that Russians are fighting for the “living space”.

Otherwise, the pot-licker would have to make peace because the Rusich-ies are nazis.

If the bombs were general purpose (GP), then the most likely scenario is the pilot had a serious emergency and jettisoned the bombs.

Here's some info from an unreliable source:

In March 2023, Russian Su-35s have launched a number of FAB-500M-62, wreckage of which indicates that these have been fitted with a JDAM type kit. Involving pop-out wings and satellite navigation.

If RU have developed their own JDAMs then perhaps they have some bugs that need to be worked out.

One of my go to sites is joe blogs and he does lots of analysis of Russian figures but a question I have meant to ask him and will pose to you all is why are we believing their numbers? Like china’s numbers there is no way to confirm them.

The delay between surface impact and detonation has lead some people to suspect the bomb was a bunker buster of some sort.

It was unfortunate that a passing car was very close to the location of the impact when the bomb exploded.

If anything the Russians over report to make things seem better then they really are. Numbers from both are not for external consumption, the numbers are for their own people.

“Rusich group leader unsurprisingly declared again there are almost no fascists or nazis on the other [Ukrainian] side and that Russians are fighting for the “living space”.”

Being admitted Nazis themselves, Rusich Group would know. Funny, Wagner Group's Prigozhin said essentially the same thing last month. And while Prigozhin may not be a Nazi himself, Wagner was founded by admitted Nazi (with the SS tats to prove it) GRU/Spetsnaz officer Dmitry Utkin, and has many Nazis in their ranks.

Obviously both Russia and Ukraine have neo-Nazis in their ranks (so does the US military), but even in Russia, the whole "de-nazification" narrative appears to be falling apart. It will no doubt live on here at FR.

The delay has me puzzled. It is over 10 seconds.

Fuse delays are normally expressed in milliseconds, even for bunker busters. For example, the maximum delay for M-904 fuse is 250 milliseconds.

They also had excellent target intel. Most of their shots had secondary explosions.

My guess is that drones surveilled the target area for troops and ammo storage.

Drones also monitored the target area during the sortie for any troop movement that could threaten the tank.
