Attack On Europe: Documenting Russian Equipment Losses During The 2022 Russian Invasion Of Ukraine
ORYX ^ | Since February 24, 2022 and daily | ORYX

This list only includes destroyed vehicles and equipment of which photo or videographic evidence is available. Therefore, the amount of equipment destroyed is significantly higher than recorded here. Small arms, ATGMs, MANPADS, loitering munitions, drones used as unmanned bait, civilian vehicles, trailers and derelict equipment are not included in this list. All possible effort has gone into avoiding duplicate entries and discerning the status of equipment between captured or abandoned. Many of the entries listed as 'abandoned' will likely end up captured or destroyed. Similarly, some of the captured equipment might be destroyed if it can't be recovered. When the origin of a piece of equipment can't be established, it is not included in the list. The Soviet flag is used when the equipment in question was produced prior to 1991. This list is constantly updated as additional footage becomes available.

“Reading Russia’s war budget”

“Janis Kluge combs through the latest Russian finance ministry statistics to assess the true extent of Russia’s budgetary woes”

“Since the start of Russia’s full scale invasion of Ukraine, the Russian federal budget has received much more attention than in the past. For good reason: The budget can reveal a lot about the financial health and resilience of Vladimir Putin’s regime. It represents the flow of economic resources that is under formal, centralized control of the state.

When tax revenues are booming, as they did in the early months of the war, the federal budget can be used to cushion sanctions effects, pay for ramping up arms production, or to keep key elites happy. But when the revenue streams dry up, then a sickly budget can also become a real constraint for the regime. Despite being an autocrat, Putin cannot simply expropriate all savings or increase debt without limit (although both are happening to some degree). The risk of a major fallout becomes too great, even in a time of war.

Because of the political significance of the budget, the reliability of publicly available data is often questioned. In comparison to other autocracies, it may seem strange that Russia’s finance ministry is still publishing a lot of statistics. As of April 2023, it is still possible to get a relatively detailed and up-to-date picture of spending and revenues. Why is the Russian finance ministry not classifying all data? And how can we know whether the published numbers are made up?”

Kind of pisses me off that so many comments require a Twitter account.
I don’t have Facebook or Twitter accounts.
As a rule I don’t do social media.
Even my email is through a private company.
I’m not a terrorist, although Democrats think I am because I dislike anal examinations.

Think Taiwan and how to set a trap for the Chicoms. Easier to do than Ukraine due to the Taiwan Strait. Taiwan has money. Will the Taiwan military be up to the challenge? I think not. Would the Chicom adversaries in the region come to their assistance before they’re next? Would be nice. Everyone has to step up unlike Europe. At least Russia is being made to lead. A million dead Chicoms is nothing. Still, opportunity wasted. American ladyship under Biden-forget it.

Prediction: China will not attack if Trump is back in the WH. The next 18 month might be too early.

Designed to support the U.S. Army Captains Career Course, “Understanding Combined Arms Warfare” defines and outlines the important aspects of modern combined arms operations. This is not a complete history of combined arms warfare. It is intended to highlight the most important aspects of the subject.

The beginning of the documentary establishes a common understanding of combined arms warfare by discussing doctrinal and equipment developments in World War I. The second part compares the development of French and German Army mechanization during the interwar period and describes how each country fared during the Battle of France in 1940. The film concludes by showing how the United States applied combined arms operations in the European Theater in World War II.

Reporting from Ukraine:

[ Supplies Ct!!! | We Must Act Now! | Russians Cut The Road to Bakhmut ]

••Day 422: April 21
Today the biggest news is coming from the East.

Here, Russian forces rapidly shifted their focus from the city to the flanks and once again increased the pressure on the Ukrainian defense that was protecting the Khromove supply road. Ukrainians defense gave in to the pressure, Russian achieved their goal and assumed control over a trench right in front of the road, however, there is one caveat.

Last time I told you that Russians realized that they were lured into disadvantageous fighting around the train station, changed their tactic, and managed to push Ukrainians to the western side of the railways. I also told you that in the aftermath of massive attacks and counterattacks in the northern part of Bakhmut, both Ukrainian and Russian artillery leveled the residential area to the ground, which forced Ukrainians to step back.

The freshest reports suggest that the main Ukrainian defense line goes along Krainia Street. The commanders of the units on the ground evaluated the condition of the infrastructure and decided that it was physically no longer fit for defense.

According to Russian sources, Russians are maintaining a permanent presence only in the outer quarter of the region, as all buildings in between have been destroyed.

This means that in order to maintain constant pressure, they have to make a long hike through the grey zones, which increases their losses due to snipers, mortar, and artillery strikes. As can be seen from the combat footage, the streets in front of Ukrainian positions are filled with Russian corpses.

In the southern part of the region, a fighter from the Ukrainian 1st Border Detachment reported that Russians made 3 attempts to move closer to the high-rise buildings. Unfortunately for Russians, they are attacking from tactically disadvantageous positions, as Ukrainians are not only located in higher buildings but also on a hill.

As a result, the Russians failed to develop a bridgehead north of Korsunskogo Street and lost 25 troops. In the meantime, the Ukrainian artillery crews continue to hunt down forces concentrations south of Korsunskogo street. Today’s combat footage showed that the 3rd Assault Brigade eliminated at least 6 houses that were seen to receive ammunition or house Russian troops.

But the biggest news by far is that Russians managed to breach one of the most important lines of fortifications in front of the Khromove highway and cut off supplies to Ukrainian fighters in Bakhmut.

Yesterday Russian sources reported that the main axis of advance was changed, and it was once again decided to focus on cutting off the supply roads. As you remember, the closest Russian positions were near the rails, and most of the fights took place along the tree line that separated the Ukrainian-held field and the Russian-held field.

Recently, Russians launched a comprehensive attack and managed to push Ukrainians out of the long trench that leads right to the Khromove highway, which means that they have essentially established physical control over the road. The Advisor to the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Yan Gagin, stated that Bakhmut was finally taken into a pocket, and Ukrainian forces have no ability to provide supplies or retreat.

However, if we look at the satellite imagery, we can see that Ukrainians developed an extensive trench network in front of the road, behind the road, and also all over the place.

This was done precisely for such a development to ensure that Russians would not be able to control the whole region by just breaching defense in 1 trench. Russian forces opened 3 lines of attack in order to not allow the Ukrainian defense to work synergistically. As a result, 2 attacks were repelled, and 1 Russian attack succeeded, and they established control over the western line.

This put Russians in a very inconvenient position, as they are surrounded by Ukrainians. Geolocated footage showed that Ukrainians were using grenade throwers, firing at Russians from 3 sides. A Ukrainian fighter from the Aidar Battalion reported that the situation is under control and, for the most part, Russians are being eliminated and taken captive.

In the face of the overwhelming evidence that the claims of the encirclement of Bakhmut are false, Russian officials faced a huge backlash and pressure. The Head of the Wagner forces, also criticized the DPR authorities for undermining public trust. Shortly, the Head of the DPR made an official follow-up appeal and withdrew the statement about the encirclement of Bakhmut.

Overall, Ukrainians have built a very powerful defense line in front of the Khromove highway that ensures that Russians cannot establish control over the region by breaching just one strong point. Decentralization of defense allowed Ukrainians to immobilize Russian attackers and prevent them from achieving tactical goals.

Careful planning ensures that Ukrainian fighters will continue receiving supplies via other small roads because even though Russians got close, they are located behind the hill and have no visual control over the ground south of the highway.

The thing the Russians military does best is Parades. The thing the Chinese military does is doing Parades better than the Russians.

In the Russian Army, the budget must account for bribes, and there must be at least one working example of every weapon made to the highest standards possible accounting for liberal brides and thievery.

In the Chinese Army, every weapon system is let to the contractor with the lowest bid and highest cushion for bribery that makes the weapon using the cheapest possible parts that may work that affords the maximum profit which is then split with the Party.

The Chinese Army is like Chinese Ghost Cities - they look great from a distance, but no one lives there because no one can live there. Once they have fulfilled their investment potential, they are destroyed and the land goes back to the Party which leases it to a favored contractor who builds ...

China: beaten by the Indian Army, and by the Vietnamese army twice; China: whose troops have low moral and have zero combat experience. That’s the army you fear?

China cannot afford to attack anyone, but it can afford to bluster and bully.
