The Food and Drug Administration pulled the emergency use authorizations for the original COVID vaccines produced by Moderna and Pfizer on Tuesday.
Both vaccines were authorized for emergency use more than two years ago after they were developed under Operation Warp Speed during the Trump administration.
In a news release, the FDA explained the older vaccines no longer offer full protection from new strains of the virus.
The agency said it had amended the emergency use authorizations of the initial Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines in order to “simplify the vaccination schedule for most individuals.”
“This action includes authorizing the current bivalent vaccines (original and omicron BA.4/BA.5 strains) to be used for all doses administered to individuals 6 months of age and older, including for an additional dose or doses for certain populations,” the FDA said.

If the pandemic emergency is over, then why even keep the emergency use authorization at all?

It’s worse than you think.
What they did today is intended to nullify the “up to date” vaccination status of vaccinated people. If you are not interested in being a vaccinated person you can stop reading.
In June, there is an FDA meeting coming up to require annual, “updated” COVID vaccinations for people who want or who need COVID vaccine. The manufacturers want the same procedures/requirements as exist now for millions of workers and flu vaccine, and it sounds like they are going to get it.

You still trying to sell the idea that these are not vaccines? The original vaccine did an excellent job of protecting against the alpha variant. The bivalent vaccine adds protection against the omicron while maintaining protection against alpha. It’s very disingenious to disparage the original vaccine for reduced effectiveness against later variants.
FWIW, these vaccines are given the same protections under the PREP act as are other vaccines. They are not unique in that regard.

are these vaxxes under eua or are they approved?
article doesnt seem to mention
Still emergency authorization, so no liability. And, since an emergency approval becomes void if an actual treatment is available, Iverwhatsit/etc will continue to be suppressed.
Much more... a higher risk of injury or death, especially in young males. And disabling harm to older people.
My wife, within ten days of her third booster, exhibited symptoms resembling dementia and Parkinsons. The meds used to treat those conditions are not giving any improvement. Our physician agrees with me that it is a vaxx reaction.
Bro, almost everyone in the world has gotten Covid. This is ridiculous. LOL!!

Get another opinion.

No where close. It is reported that there have been about 762 million cases. The world population is over 8 billion. That’s less than 10%.
The effectiveness against Alpha was, at best, a slight reduction in the severity of the illness. As a vaccine it was a complete failure.

As a vaccine against alpha, it was very effective in both protecting against infection and reducing the seriousness of an infection.
Your numbers are laughable. You think Africans are reporting when they got Covid? Or is it your position that Africans didn't get vaccinated AND didn't get Covid? LOL

Over 100 million covid cases in US.
Over 330 million US population.
No where near your claim of every one has had COVID.
Very funny you would mention Africa. Many posts here on FR about how unique africa is with regard to low death rates and low infections.
I think you pick the experts who say things you agree with.

Just like every poster in this forum.
‘Low infections’ because they don’t test. LMAO. Are you a bot?

Is there something about the fact that Africa may report low infections because they don’t test enough to produce reliable data?

Nothing like name calling to demonstrate that you do not have a credible argument.
